Square Enix today announced that developer Crystal Dynamics is hard at work on a new Tomb Raider game, only it’s not called Tomb Raider.
The game, a download only title, goes by the name “Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.”
This look like Lord of the Rings to anyone else?
Perhaps it was smart to drop the Tomb Raider name, as the brand has suffered as of late. And straight from the mouth of Crystal Dynamic’s Darrell Gallagher, it’s “something completely new and very different to what people might be expecting.”
No additional information is available at the moment, only that it’s currently in development, will release digitally (not full retail) and will be shown at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco next week.
