According to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter, Bungie’s “definitive” Halo game, Halo: Reach, will be the biggest game of 2010 in terms of sales.

Pachter, or the Pach attack, says the game will move eight or nine million units and bump it into the blockbuster category, but still well below Modern Warfare 2.

“At the risk of being called an X-bot, I think the most likely is going to be Halo Reach. I think that last year’s best-seller, MW2, is probably not going to have the same buzz this year with this year’s version of Call of Duty. It’s not Infinity Ward working on the game so I don’t think that one will compete,” he told GameTrailers.

“There’s a chance perhaps that some Nintendo game’s going to surface that’s going to generate higher sales, but I really think Halo Reach is the one – with a round 8-9 million units, not 15 million like we saw with CoD.”

I’m pretty much completely excited for Reach and am glad come May I can jump in and see what the buzz is all about.

It would be awesome to see Reach outsell MW2. If I recall correctly, Halo 3 was brought by a larger % of 360 owner’s than MW2 was, so its very likely it will outsell MW2’s 360 only sales. But, knowing what Halo has been able to do in the past, its possible, that Reach may beat MW2 even when MW2’s PS3 and PC sales are included. But that is very fucking unlikely.
