Games that are nearly perfect often sell well and that sentiment rings true with Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Jack Tretton, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, announced on the PlayStation Blog today that the game has sold nearly 3 million units.

“Games like Uncharted 2: Among Thieves are surpassing our lofty expectations as it outsold the franchise’s first PS3 game and is now closing in on three million copies sold worldwide,” he wrote on the blog this afternoon.

Uncharted 2 was my clear favorite of 2009. An amazing, thought-provoking narrative coupled with intense third-person gameplay made it a truly phenomenal game for PlayStation 3 gamers.
