Electronic Arts today announced that its baby boy Mass Effect 2 sold over 2 million million  units since it launched Tuesday at midnight.

Internal data from EA reveal the staggering figure and even touted the game’s over 40 perfect review scores as evidence of its apparent worth.

“Mass Effect 2 is poised to be one of the biggest games of 2010. We could not be more proud of the game’s universal acclaim and early commercial success,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder of BioWare.

BioWare has said additional content, in the form of add-on DLC, is planned for the title. So if the going’s already good, it’s likely to get much  better!
