EA released its first single player trailer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 this morning and it makes us foam at the mouth for this hotly anticipated shooter from DICE.

Here’s a breakdown of the plot for anyone who is unfamiliar with the series:

The campaign is said to pick up as “B Company” is patrolling the Russian-American demarcation line when they discover the Russian military transporting a scalar generator prototype to build fully functional weapons near American soil. B Company travels the world in order to put an end to the threat.

The game looks like it can take on Modern Warfare 2 in terms of combat and weaponry and its multiplayer component, with its massively-scaled battles, might have enough to steal a bit of Modern Warfare 2’s thunder.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be available on March 2, 2010 in North America for the Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC.
