Mega-publisher Activision is likely to spin a web of changes in Spiderman video games if comments from CEO Bobby Kotick bear any weight.

Speaking with the GameInformer Magazine, Kotick remarked to the effect that Spiderman games to date have not lived up to what they should.

“Our Spiderman games have sucked for the last five years. They are bad games,” Kotick said.

“They were poorly rated because they were bad games. We went away from what is Spider-Man. It’s about web-slinging. If you don’t do web-slinging right, what is the fantasy of Spider-Man?”

Activision has a new Spiderman title planned for 2010, but Shaba Games, the studio responsible for Web of Shadowws won’t be developing it, as Activision closed the studio in October.

Admittedly, I’m not a huge comic-book fan and so don’t play the video games much, but for anyone who does, have the Spiderman games left a bad taste in your mouth?
