Blu-Ray discs, what PlayStation 3 games run from, are getting larger.

Sony and Panasonic today revealed that they’ve developed a way to pack in a whopping additional 8.4GB, or over 33% increase over the capacity of original discs.

Blu-Ray discs out there today can hold up to 25GB of anything, but with the new improvements, that figure will vault up 33.4GB, and would require just a simple firmware update to implement the change.

Oh, it’s sweet being a PlayStation gamer now isn’t it?
