Forza Motorsport 3This is everything a racing game should be. Realistic, practical, sleek and well designed. Overall the gameplay is magnificent and will attract gamers who are casual fans and please those who are hardcore racing fanatics. Beginners have helpful automatic driving and rewind to help them through the beginning stages until they’re ready to fly solo. Players have a highly customizable experience and also have an absurd amount of cars at their disposal. This game buries the other entries in the Forza series.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City Rockstar won us over with the great voice acting, writing and the always over-the-top situations and characters. For the price, you’re probably not going to find a better amount of gameplay this holiday season.  Whether you purchase Episodes from Liberty City or just download the add-ons separately is entirely dependent on your current situation, but if you don’t own GTA IV or you just haven’t jumped on the downloading bandwagon, we suggest checking this one out.

Halo 3: ODST – It’s  is more than an expansion to Halo 3. Updated graphics, innovative storytelling, a fresh multiplayer experience in FireFight, all 24 Halo 3 multiplayer maps and a stellar soundtrack make ODST a serious contender in the FPS genre heading into the fall and holiday season. The campaign is short; only about 6-7 hours, but the combination of FireFight and the now definitive and complete Halo 3 multiplayer component, sends the game’s replay value through the roof.

Halo Wars – It might be more of a starter kit in the real-time strategy genre than a hardcore experience, but if you’re into the Halo universe and are willing to try to play the series in a different light, than Halo Wars gives you that chance. The price has dropped since its release earlier this year as well, so you can pick this up on the cheap as a gift or as a personal stocking stuffer without hurting your wallet.

Left 4 Dead 2 New campaigns, new characters, new weapons, and the ability to chop down the horde with melee attacks? Yes, please. Whether alone or with friends, Left 4 Dead 2 is a pleasing sequel that will satiate your desire to wipe out the infected–or the survivors.
