Sony announced today that the latest update to the PlayStation 3 hangout, Sony’s Home, hits tomorrow, October 1 and brings “universal game launching” to the social space.

Version 1.3, as it’s being called, allows you to launch whatever game you have queued up either in the disc-tray or on your hard-drive for instant access, without having to back out to the main screen and load the game.

But there’s more. Sony also revealed that new clothing categories, emotes, and items will show up in Home Version 1.3, as well as the ability to try on and see your mini-me in desired clothing in real-time.

Maybe now Home can be the space we all imagined it once could be. Tomorrow’s update will at least be a step in the right direction if nothing else.
