At the Tokyo Game Show today Sony revealed that the new PS3 model has sold over 1 million units in its first three weeks on the market.

The PS3 Slim, as we’re calling it, went on sale Sept. 1, (I got mine early), and with its 120GB hard drive, Blu-Ray player, and smaller overall size, while offering the same functionality, was a damn popular hunk of gaming goodness.

When September’s official NPD numbers come in we’ll know if Sony was exaggerating, but for now we’ll believe the Sony-produced numbers.

Anyone out there pick up a PS3 Slim? If so, why?
