Ellen DeGeneres was brimming with excitement when she announced to her studio audience yesterday:
“I just finally got the OK . . . just moments ago to announce this to you today. We’ve been dealing with this for the last couple of weeks and I’ve been dying to tell everyone.”
Never fear, Ellen will continue with her talk show.
Idol’s creator and executive producer, Simon Fuller, said in a statement, “I could not be more excited to have Ellen join the ‘American Idol’ family.”
Ellen is sure to be more fun than Paula, but the question is whether or not she is a credible judge for a singing competition. Whatever the case, let’s just hope she dances.
