Mega-giant publisher Electronic Arts today announced the wordy “Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Commanders Challenge,” a PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade title due out “this summer” as an attractive gaming opportunity for those who have never waded into the deep waters of the famed RTS series.

Priced at an affordable $9.99, “Commanders Challenge”‚  consists of 50 unique challenge and is described by EA as such

“Each challenge features its very own over-the-top and distinctive twist, confronting players with everything from giant Soviet war bears and an entire army of psionic Japanese school girls to massive satellite orbital bombardments.”

Giant Soviet war bears? Hell yeah! Kind of like this?

The same winning air, land, sea formula is applied to “Commanders Challenge” and as you progress through the increasingly difficult challenges you’ll unlock more units and technology. Furthermore, if you think you’re the best commander in the world the team at EA Los Angeles have input a “par time,” that the development team promises to be freakin’ difficult to beat.

“Commanders Challenge” hits the PSN and XBLA this summer (when EA nails a date down we’ll let you know) priced at 800 MS Points or $9.99 depending on your digital monies preference.
