It’s no secret that Electronic Arts and BioWare are fond of their unique IP Dragon Age, but just how affectionate is the mega-publisher for what BioWare has created?

The simple answer is enough to partner with Green Ronin Publishing to bring a pen and paper version of the RPG to retail this summer before the title itself hits shelves.

The pen and paper game will expand upon the already plentiful Dragon Age universe and claims to be a great way for fans to lengthen the reach of their already passionate endeavors in the impending title.

Green Ronin has worked on Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Black Company, and Thieves’ World, and feel that “dark fantasy is in our blood and Dragon Age: Origins is the best in its class. An opportunity to collaborate with BioWare on Dragon Age: Origins was not to be missed.”

The pen and paper Dragon Age will begin showing up in your local comic book guys’ comic book shop and other fine book purveyors this summer, the first of which will drop as a box set.

As for the game itself, Dragon Age: Origins hopes to hit shelves Fall 2009 on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
