We’ve heard all about the epic DSi launch party in America, and we know the tea sipping blokes across the pond love them some Nintendo, but just how many DSi’s were sold this past weekend?

According to Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, the revamped portable gaming machine sold 600,000 units in two days, across two continents. ‚ ‚ 300,000 in the United States, and 300,000 in Europe.

The DS family of handhelds recently eclipsed 100 million units worldwide and this massive weekend figure only buffs that total even further.

If you picked up a DSi, what were your deciding factors? Let us know in the comments.
