When compared to a similarly equipped AMD Athlon FX-62 system, the gap widened even more, to‚ a staggering 31 percent difference, with ‘Nehalem’ taking a long distance lead. Keep in mind that this is actually very impressive, because our‚ Nehalem‚ platform is running on very early hardware, specifically the motherboard. 4. Comic Movies
You had your Batman, Ironman, The Incredible Hulk, Babylon A.D.. If you can name a comic off the top of your head, chances are Hollywood has made it into live action. For better or worse. Though, for all the fanboy & girl uproar, there are a majority of satisfied 20-40 somethings whom are watching their childhood heroes come alive on the big screen. With the recent generational shift in the movie industry it would seem the nerds have arrived in full force. The dumb movies are finding their way out of the mainstream consciousness and comics are being taken more seriously. It’s now cool to know about Batman. It’s now cool to know about Hellboy. Now if only it could get you laid.‚
3. Hurricane Season
As a Texan this effected me more so than I’m sure you northerners can relate to. (Maybe the South Easterners can) But in any case Hurricanes Dolly, Edouard, Gustav and Ike,pounded Texas like a porn star. Each hurricane wrought about 1 billion or more in damages, not to mention the thousands of lives lost, and many more families displaced. Mother nature shows her force every year and interestingly enough, each year we forget how powerful she really is. This lesson goes for every corner of the US. Don’t forget that as advanced as we are right now, we’re nearly a tiny notch on the timeline of our planet.
