Leading graphics developer Matrox recently announced triple widescreen monitor modes, including 3x1680x1050 and 3x1440x900, promising a truly panoramic gaming and desktop experience.

“The new modes allow gaming enthusiasts and professionals to benefit from the advantages of widescreen technology across an astonishing desktop set-up,” the company said last week in a statement.

“With TripleHead2Go, users can now drive three widescreen monitors from a single system,” said Caroline Injoyan, business development manager for Matrox. “The ultra-wide desktop gives gamers a maximum field-of-view for an unrivaled gaming experience and professionals a vast desktop for managing multiple applications.”

With this, Matrox addresses the new trademark name of “Surround Gaming” — a “heightened level fo immersion for a more enjoyable gaming environment.”

The new TripleHead2Go widescreen modes-enabled by connecting the TripleHead2Go to the system’s dual-link DVI connector-are available with select Nvidia and ATI GPUs running under XP and Vista.
