“Guitar Hero has set the standard for music-based gaming and with Guitar Hero World Tour and the game’s groundbreaking Music Studio, we are once again delivering unprecedented innovation that has the potential to revolutionize consumer generated music, much in the same way that video sharing hubs have driven user generated video,” said Dusty Welch, Head of Publishing for Red Octane. “With the introduction of our advanced high-quality new wireless instruments, in-depth customization options and advanced online functionality, the game enables music fans and gamers globally to share in the most social and expressive music experience ever.”

On top of being able to create your own music, band mates can customize as much about their avatar in the game as possible — body size, hair, clothing and instrument, which further personalizes the whole experience.

World Tour combines the creativity of writing music and creating characters with an extensive online mode. World Tour allows four on four Battle of the Bands-esque competitions. Four friends can get together and play online against another band in a competition to see who’s the best at lighting up the stage.

If you aren’t into the whole, “I win!” thing, then there is still four player cooperative game play as well as the ability to play through the Career mode by yourself or with friends.

Fret not, future Bonos and Claptons, because coming soon to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii, you will have one more reason to bob your head to this revolutionary franchise and act out your rock and roll fantasies.
