And, I, like most Iranians and Mr. Takaffoli, do not want a bloody revolution. The fact of the matter is, bloodshed is too fresh in the Iranian psyche. When someone asked me (before last Friday) why Iranians didn't just rise up and revolt, I always told them that the country still has a bloody revolution and an even bloodier 8-year war on its mind. I didn't see it, but my parents certainly have not forgotten the horrid things they saw during the last revolution. We did not want to see that loss of life again. Iranians are very emotional, sentimental people (see our love of poetry!). We don't take the loss of lives, or even one life, very lightly. Having seen so much of it during the last 31 years... we just couldn't do it again, especially when we were unsure of the results. This time... this time...
