I have not received notice of a recall. Obviously something tragic happened, but looking at my car does not reveal how it occurred. It must have been a combination of failures and bad judgements compounded by a case of real panic when it happened. If the two clips which hold the mat are in place, there is no way this could happen. Checking this is a 30 second job. If they are not, it is not "rocket science to have a repair.
