Great suggestion for college students or anyone wanting to save money on heating for that matter. Many of us just assume the heating bill is what it is. But there are many simple things you can do to save money – in addition to stopping drafts with the draft guard. A programmable thermostat is one of the easiest. College students in particular can program the thermostat to turn down the temperature up to 7 degrees while they are in classes and while sleeping. For every degree the average person turns down their thermostat, they can save $100 on their heating bill.
