Guitar Hero 4 more like Rockband?

April 27, 2008

Admit it — as fun as Guitar Hero 3 is, going solo just isn’t as fun as rocking out with friends in Harmonix’s breakthrough hit, Rock Band.

If recent comments from an Activision exec hold true, you may have trouble telling the two apart when Guitar Hero 4 launches.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick was interviewed in the May issue Conde Nast Portfolio Magazine and talked about the future of the multi-million unit selling music simulator and pop phenomena, which includes more instruments and local content based on a user’s location.

“It’s not just about guitars,” said Kotick. “We’ll include a lot of other instruments and vocals. It will help us expand internationally. It’s the first game we’ve had in which we can use local content and local bands.”

Keep your eyes on this one.
