$0.25 seats at new Yankee Stadium

Dec. 23, 2008

In an attempt to try to collect money to help pay for CC Sabathia’s and Mark Teixeira’s salaries, the New York Yankees are going to offer $0.25 bleacher seats on April 3rd and 4th against the Chicago Cubs. Grandstand tickets will be selling at $1.10. Both prices match the ticket price for the opener against Boston back in 1923.

The Yankees are hoping to sell 720,000,000 bleacher seats during those two days which will cover Teixeira’s contract. And they are looking to sell 146,363,636 grandstand tickets to help pay for CC Sabathia’s contract.

These games against the Cubs represent the pre-season home opener at the new Yankee Stadium.
