Skyrim takes on family life with Hearthfire add-on

What could be better than coming home to a loving family after saving the world from a draconic invasion? If you’ve pilfered every dungeon in Skyrim and are looking for something a bit more meaningful, perhaps you should head home and tend to your garden. Why not adopt some kids, too, while you’re at it?

At least, that’s what Bethesda plans players will do with the release of Hearthfire, an add-on that lets players experience the joys of domestic life. Hearthfire lets players build their own houses, purchase terrain, and even adopt children because we all know the Dovahkiin is too busy to make them the traditional way.

Hearthfire will be available on September 4 on Xbox 360 for 400 Microsoft Points. No word yet whether other platforms will get this add-on.
