If you’re a London developer planning to participate in this weekend’s Molydeux Game Jam 2012 event, be prepared for Peter Molyneux himself to make an appearance.

For those of you unfamiliar with Molydeux Game Jam, or simply MolyJam, let’s just say there’s a very unique story behind the event’s creation.

Peter Molydeux, a Twitter parody of Peter Molyneux was taken off the internet back in November of last year because Lionhead Studios feared that people would confuse his tweets for those of the actual game developer. Molydeux mostly tweeted about absurd game design ideas, but they also poked fun at the developer’s approach to games. Many simply followed him along on his wild tangents, but some decided to actually put these ideas into action and formed what is now MolyJam.

Molyneux told VOX Games that he plans on attending this Friday’s London event not as a participant, but as an observer. He will also be scouting talent for his new startup 22 Cans.

“I’m going there because I love those sort of things,” he said. “But I’m also going to looking and hoping to find some amazing people.”

MolyJam 2012’s 48-hour game jam starts this Friday and runs through Sunday at various locations throughout the globe such as London, San Francisco, Boston, and Finland.
