EA wants to “Take On” the Modern Warfare series

When we think of first-person-shooters, one name rings loud above the rest, Modern Warfare, but Electronic Arts wants to change that with its upcoming shooter, Bad Company 2.

“In March we will launch Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which is our first strong attack on Call Of Duty,” EA Europe boss Jens Uwe told MCV Magazine. “The shooter space is one we don’t want to give up. It’s an important genre and we were the number one. So we are certainly working on how we can get that crown back and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an important product in that context.”

Uwe went on to say “If any of our studios can take on Modern Warfare, then it’s DICE.”I’d have to agree with the man as I’ve played a heck of a lot of Modern Warfare 2 and many, many hours in the Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta, (read my impressions here), and can easily say Bad Company 2 will undoubtedly be a force to reckon with this March.
