Billionaire owner of Virgin Group Richard Branson, will grace the annual video game trek to mecca we call the Electronic Entertainment Expo next month where he’ll debut a new “gaming service.”

United Kingdom industry site MCV reports that Branson will appear at E3 2010, which runs from June 15-17 in Los Angeles where he’ll wow gamers with whatever he has in tow.

‘The new gaming service rumoured to launch at E3 will seek partnerships with leading publishers and content owners, offering new and unique opportunities… [we] understand that the new video games venture will be online-only and again challenge-based, possibly built on a technology acquisition,’ reads the MCV report.

The Virgin Group used to have an Interactive division until it was bought off in 1999. During its glory days  however, it pushed out classics Cannon Fodder (1993), The Lion King (1994) Command & Conquer (1995) as well as mega popular Capcom hits Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Dino Crisis in Europe.
