XBL Fall Update also bringing Dedicated Music Stores, News Hub

Oct. 19

Next month, when Microsoft unleashes the hefty Fall 2009 Dashboard update, gamers will enjoy more than the aformentioned addition of Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm.

Microsoft said today that a dedicated Music Game Store and News and More section will also be packed into the update.

The Music Games Store aims to streamline your purchases by compiling all available DLC for Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Lips into their own store, available through the dashboard, and with previews of each tune ready and waiting as well.

The News and More section is pretty much just what it sounds like. According to the press release it’ll give gamers a “regularly-updated stream of content from MSNBC.com, MSN Autos, The New Yorker and Dilbert.”

With Facebook, Twitter, Last.Fm, and now news available on my Xbox, it’s going to be damn hard to leave that thing.
