Fallout 3 DLC “Broken Steel” out today on PSN

Sept. 24

Fallout 3 on the PlayStation 3 is a great game, but Xbox 360 owners have been able to enjoy a whopping catalogue of 5 DLC expansions while PS3-owners have been left in the cold.

That ended today as Bethesda released the game’s first digital ware “Broken Steel” on the PlayStation Network.

Broken Steel” is the first of 5 planned expansions for PS3, continuing next week on Oct. 1 with Operation Anchorage and The Pitt, followed by the release of Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta on Oct. 8.

All DLC is $9.99 but a “Game of The Year Edition,” with all 5 expansions is due out October 13, so the money-conscious gamer might want to wait for that one.

Um, yeah, so checking on Amazon, the Game of the Year Addition is listed for 56.99 when it releases, which would me the money-conscious gamer would actually want to pick up the individual DLC releases. 5 x 9.99 makes all of the individual DLC = 49.95. Saves you 7 dollars that way.

Unless of course you don’t actually own the game already, in which case purchasing the Game of the Year Edition is a seriously awesome deal. My guess though, is that most people wanting this content on the PS3 are people who bought the original game. I just wanted to make sure you weren’t spreading bad advice :)
