Disney Interactive announces new Pirates of the Caribbean title

May 27

Disney Interactive announced today Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, an open-world action-role-playing-game from the makers of Turok, Propaganda Games, due out on all next-gen consoles in 2010.

The game is said to take place prior to the films and will send players on a whirlwind adventure assuming the role of a shivery pirate on both land and sea with numerous moral and character decisions to make along the way.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise is a loved series by many, and if executed properly (we’re looking at you, crappy Wii games), may be able to truly succeed.  Unless of course the story is preposterous and the sword-play fails hard.
