Red Dead Redemption, a sequel five years in the making from Rockstar San Diego got its first trailer today.  The open-world Wild West style Grand Theft Auto title is a total overhaul of 2005’s Red Dead Revolver and is not the sequel you’d expect.

In the trailer we see the beginnings of a powerful narrative, a diverse set of characters, beautiful and expansive environments, and a helluva lot of good ol’ time fire-fights.

Could this be the genre-defining title?  If anyone is up to the task it is certainly mighty Rockstar.  Have a look at the trailer and see for yourself.
