Marge takes it all off for Playboy

Marge Simpson is showing some yellow in the November issue of Playboy.

The cover shows “The Devil in Marge Simpson,” depicting her in the nude, albeit mostly covered by a Playboy-bunny-shaped chair (which conjures up images of the “Life in Hell” rabbit). Inside, you’ll find a three-page pictorial with “implied nudity” drawn by “The Simpsons” illustrators.

“It’s never been done, and we thought it would be kind of hip, cool and unusual” Scott Flanders, CEO of Playboy Enterprises, told The Chicago Tribune.

Ned Flanders, however, could not be reached for comment.

The purpose of the cover is two-fold, according to the Boston Herald: to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons, and for the magazine to focus on a younger audience.

While this is not the first time Marge has been a featured model for a men’s magazine “" she appeared on the cover of Maxim in 2004 as a “D’oh-eyed beauty” “" it is the first time Playboy has featured an animated model (not to be confused with Jessica Rabbit of Who Framed Roger Rabbit fame, who was played by a real-life model).

Make sure to read the accompanying article penned by the writers of “The Simpsons.”

Other people of interest on the cover are Stephen King, Farrah Fawcett, and Tracy Morgan.
