For the record, Star Trek was done extremely well, and though J.J. is a self-professed Star Wars fan, he took enough care with the reboot to give shout outs to the original series while not being so wrapped up in the Star Trek culture to be bogged down by it and ruin the movie. In clearer words, Paramount did right by the franchise. Don't knock it till you try it.

"Who hires a director whose attitude is, “fuck the fans, we already have their money?”

Paramount, obviously. They hired J.J. Abrams to film Star Trek. Abrams has stated more than once that he is NOT a Trek fan and doesn't care what fans want. Whether or not he screwed the fans remains to be seen with the films release. Either way, with the huge anticipation for the film, it will still make a ton of money and undoubtedly spawn a sequel.

But, I digress.

I thought Reynolds -- a highly underrated actor in both comedy and action films -- is a perfect choice for Deadpool. I hope they produce the film and do it right (HA!). I also expect it to be a prequel where he doesn't have a screwed up face or even wear a mask much. After all, what star of a big budget film doesn't want his face to be seen during most of it?

As for Wolverine, while it wasn't the greatest effort -- by a long shot -- it was still more enjoyable that that god awful borefest 'Batman Begins' and any part of 'Dark Knight' that didn't have Joker. Same for Daredevil. Everyone slams it do hard, but I felt it was a better adaptation than most other comic films done since.

I still feel X-men 2 was the perfect comic/action film. I have no idea how SInger screwed up so bad when he did Superman Returns though. Oh, yes I do. Above all else, a comic book movie needs ACTION!! SR had almost none.

Oh, and in conclusion, so that I can sound as 'super cool' in my comments as Kellen Rice, let me just add "shit, shit, shit, shit, fuck, fuck and, of course, fuck". WOW! Profanity makes me so hip.

I couldn't agree more. If they're going to do a Deadpool movie, it better be true to the character I've come to love and revere in the comics. Otherwise, don't waste my time or my money. Reynolds does seem like a good fit though. Come on Fox, do it right or don't do it at all.
