Something different than tequilla plus mixer for Cinco de Mayo

Well Happy Cinco de Mayo everybody!

Instead of turning you all loose on lime-in-the-beer and quickie margaritas, we went to Mixologist Victoria D’Amato Moran for something just a bit different.

How do coconut and lime or jalapeno and cucumber sound?

Served on the rocks or frozen, the recipes below share the flavor of Yubari, a rare and expensive melon used to make Midori, the Melon flavored Liqueur.

Spicy Yubari MargaritaSpicy Yubari Margarita
1 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
1 ½ oz Cabo Wabo Reposado Tequila
5 slices fresh organic Cucumber peeled and seeded
2-3 slices fresh Jalapeño (to taste)
1 oz freshly squeezed organic Lime Juice

Midori MamboMidori Mambo
1 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
1 ½ oz Cabo Wabo Blanco Tequila
1 ½ oz Coconut Cream
½ oz fresh-squeezed organic Lime Juice

A bit more classic take on thngsClassic Midori Margarita
1 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
1 ½ oz Cabo Wabo Blanco Tequila
1 oz freshly squeezed organic Lime Juice
