Happy Thai New Year!

April 2, 2008

It was some time ago when Chef Arnond Sreesuvan (R-NON SREE-SUE-VON) of Pho Republique began his love affair with food in Cha ChoEng Sao, Thailand.

Born to a family of farmers and restaurateurs, it was his dream to come to America and share both his passion and mastery of Asian cuisine.

From April 13-15, Chef Arnond, and Pho Republique, will be celebrating Songkran (สงกรานต์), the three-day Thai New Year Festival of his homeland. Guests of the restaurant during these three days will be treated to the additional option of celebrating with a special Pre Fixe Songkran Supper menu including dessert and a traditional Thai water blessing! The Pre Fixe Menu is as follows:

Menu

1st Course

Sunburst Pomelo (Asian Grapefruit) Salad with Jumbo Shrimp (Yum Som O)
or
Barbeque Lemongrass Beef Salad

2nd Course

Chang Mai Noodle (Khow Soy)

Yellow noodles in yellow curry with pickle vegetables topped with crispy noodles
or
Spicy Cashew Chicken

3rd Course
Banana and Coconut cake with Thai basil Ice cream (followed by Water Blessing)

$35.00, Reservations requested but walk-ins welcome, Pho Republique, 1415 Washington St., Boston, Mass., 617-262-0005.
