Sure, the inauguration of President Barack Obama was important and historical but for fashionistas focused on wife Michelle’s every threaded move — here’s the answer to your burning question:

The “lemongrass-yellow ” coat and dress she sported at the ceremony were designed by Isabel Toledo, a New York-based, Cuban-born and generally unknown designer with 25 years of experience. According to the NYTimes.com fashion blog, Toledo, 48, did not know positively until this morning if the new first lady would wear her specially designed outfit.

The golden coat and dress were hand-made by workers in Toledo’s studio, using Swiss wool lace, backed with netting for warmth and lined in French silk.

“I wanted to pick a very optimistic color, that had sunshine,” she told the Times. “I wanted her to feel charmed, and in that way would charm everybody.”

You know you love me. XOXO.
