The Game denies sending tweets that caused potential danger at the Compton Sheriff’s Department, telling reporters he was at a photo shoot when the tweets in question were authored.

The Sheriff’s Department claims The Game tweeted their phone number and told his followers to call the number for a rap internship.

The rapper says his friend had his phone and was tweeting from it, but did not know the phone number went to the Sheriffs Department.

When he heard the police were considering charging him with a crime, The Game told TMZ “Casey Anthony can get away with murder and The Game goes to jail for tweeting. God Bless America.”

The Game's tweets cause major delay for emergency services in Compton

wireimage.com

Rapper The Game caused a clog-up at the Compton, Ca sheriff’s department when he tweeted their phone number and told his followers to call for an internship with the rapper. He may now be in legal trouble.

The phone calls began around 5:20 p.m.. Although most callers hung up when they heard it was a sheriff’s station, others inquired about The Game’s internship offer. The volume of calls caused delays in emergency services to legitimate calls.

The sheriff’s office eventually figured out what happened and responded to The Game’s tweet asking him to stop the calls. The calls ended around 8 p.m.

The deputies talked to the District Attorney’s office with intentions of possibly filing charges including delaying or obstructing an officer in the performance of his duty.

The Game is releasing a new album soon, so this stunt could hurt promotion of the album. Or maybe help it. Maybe it was a big publicity stunt!

Foreign policy would make more sense to such a large group of people if we could reliably often discuss it using rap feuds as examples. Tongue could be firmly planted in cheek here, but Marc Lynch makes a couple of really good points.

About foreign policy. And also Jay-Z. To wit:

But the limits on his ability to use this power recalls the debates about U.S. primacy. Should he use this power to its fullest extent, as neo-conservatives would advise, imposing his will to reshape the world, forcing others to adapt to his values and leadership? Or should he fear a backlash against the unilateral use of power, as realists such as my colleague Steve Walt or liberals such as John Ikenberry would warn, and instead exercise self-restraint?

Is Marc Lynch the Kai Ryssdal of FPM?
