Sullivan was shot at a house party and is currently paralyzed from the neck down.

The altercation occurred during Sullivan’s welcome home party on Friday. The Associated Press reports Sullivan’s brother and Jurardo got into an disagreement at the party over football teams, Sullivan intervened and was shot by Jurardo multiple times.

Jurardo turned himself into the Chino Hills police after fleeing from the scene. Jurardo’s defense attorney Michael J. Holmes believes that his client shot out of self-defense and that he was kicked in the back, stomach and head by Sullivan. “It is alleged at that point that Mr.Sullivan was shot,” Holmes told The Huffington Post.

Sullivan suffered a cracked skull in a bombing attack last year while serving in Afghanistan. He had been recovering at a base in Kentucky before traveling back to California, according to ABC News.

Jurardo’s bail has been set at $1 million. He is in custody at the West Valley Detention Center, according to the Contra Costa Times.

The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that Haitian-American hip-hop star Wyclef Jean was shot Saturday night in Haiti while campaigning for a presidential run. He was admitted to a hospital in Port-au-Prince, treated and released.

Jean launched a campaign to run for president of Haiti last year but his candidacy was disqualified by the government agency that oversees the election.

According to the source, Jean, who was somewhat dazed with his right hand in a bandage, arrived to cast his ballot at a small voting center Sunday. The star talked about the incident when being surrounded by fans and Haitian journalists.

On Saturday night, Jean had been driving around Port-au-Prince with Fan Fan, another Haitian hip-hop artist, and his driver. Jean had gotten out of his car to talk on his cell phone since he doesn’t like to talk on the phone with his driver present. Then, he heard shots, which “sounded like pops.”

He said, “I looked at my hand and it was bleeding. Then it started throbbing intensely.” His driver quickly took him to a nearby hotel, and then to a clinic. A doctor stitched up the wound and Jean was released. He also said he didn’t know if the shots had been meant for him.

When you go to see “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” in theaters this winter, speak softly. A Philadelphia man, furious because a fellow moviegoer was talking loudly to his son during a Christmas Day showing of the film, shot the man in the arm and threw popcorn at his son, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

James Joseph Cialella Jr., 29, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons violations, the Inquirer reports.

Cialella, after hearing the noise, got up out of his seat to confront the family. The father got up to defend his son, and in response Cialella pulled out a .380-caliber gun and shot the father in the arm.

He then turned back to his seat and sat down.

INSANE. The movie is on the top of my “must see” list for the holidays, but I had no idea it was “shoot the guy who talks too loudly” good.

The body Chicago police found dead inside an SUV this morning was confirmed as Jennifer Hudson’s nephew who has been missing since Friday, a top FBI official said.

Seven-year-old Julian King was discovered with a gunshot wound to his head inside a white Chevrolet Suburban on the city’s West Side, CBS2 Chicago is reporting.

The white Chevrolet Suburban was taken away by investigators, and a medical examiner identified the body inside as King this afternoon.

Over the weekend, Hudson offered a $100,000 reward for the safe return of her nephew.

“Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely,” Hudson said in a posting on her MySpace page Sunday. “If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately.”

Hudson also posted two pictures of her nephew wearing the brown-and-orange striped polo shirt he was wearing when he was last seen, CNN reported.

William Balfour, Hudson’s sister’s estranged husband and father of King, was arrested Friday as the main suspect in the deaths. Balfour’s mother claims Balfour is innocent of his son’s death, CNN reported.

An Amber Alert was issued Friday naming Balfour as a suspect in the double homicide. He has not been charged yet, law enforcement sources told the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.

A family member found the bodies at the Donerson’s home Friday afternoon. Donerson was found shot in the living room while Jason Hudson was found in the bedroom, police said.

Authorities described the shooting as domestic violence and said at least one of the victims suffered defensive wounds, Yahoo! News reported.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has said autopsies for Donerson and Jason Hudson were pending as of Saturday.

Records from the Illinois Department of Corrections show Balfour, 27, is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle, Yahoo! News reported. Public records show one of Balfour’s addresses as the home where Donerson and Jason Hudson were shot.

Jennifer Hudson won an Academy Award for best supporting actress in 2007 for her role in “Dreamgirls” and her self-titled debut album is a top seller. She was featured in this year’s “Sex and the City” movie and is also starring in “The Secret Life of Bees” which is in theaters now.

In an interview last year with Vogue, Hudson credited her mother with encouraging her to audition for “American Idol” which launched her career.
