The sequel is ambitious looking.

Like we said yesterday, Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet 2, a sequel to the adventurous and ambitious original, is in fact real and its first details trickled out today.

The game’s first trailer (embedded below) confirms the game’s existence and does a great job at teasing the project.

It looks and sounds as if the game is not LittleBigPlanet 1.5 and instead an entirely new experience. In addition to the trailer, the game’s website went live today, detailing the game further.

According to the website, LBP2 will let gamers “bring your characters to life, compose your own music, direct cinematic masterpieces, wire controllers directly in to your contraptions, connect easy to use switches, microchips and circuit boards to build epic bosses, vehicles, machines, and puzzles.”

What’s more, the over 2 million user made levels from the original will be playable in the sequel, allowing the fun to continue on and on!

After you check out the trailer below, with Passion Pits’ “Sleepyhead” song in the background (totally awesome) head to the game’s website for lots m ore.

Great movie, poor performance on opening weekend

“Kick-Ass” is excellent.

There are no A-listers in the film, but it’s a fantastic piece with comic book action and tons of quirks.

Sometimes, despite a movie’s quality, the quantity of dollars just isn’t there. That’s what happened this weekend when “Kick-Ass” failed to meet its $25-$30 million opening weekend predictions, and took the No. 2 hold at just under $20, behind another week of Dragon lore.

The opening weekend disappointment is already leading to speculation that the hinted-at sequel to “Kick-Ass” won’t be made.

“Kick-Ass” was directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz.

Comic Book writer Mark Millar is working on a comic sequel, but we’re not sure if it’s going to turn into a movie. The next few weeks will be crucial.

Did you see “Kick-Ass?” What did you think? Do you want to see a sequel? Leave comments, damn you!

A sequel to one of 2009's most creative, due out next fall.

The April cover of Nintendo Power is dedicated to none other than the familiar face of Maxwell, confirming “Scribblenauts 2″ for Fall 2010.

Don’t look so surprised, the original did sell over a million after all.

The original was a heaping pile of super awesome but the sequel looks to have a lot going for it as well.

Sctibblenauts X2

10,000 more words and adjectives, so you can create phrases like “happy devil” or “slimy ball,” will definitely add a much deeper feel to the game.

What’s more, 120 new levels, a level editor, a new hint system, and improved controls (thankfully!!) also come to the sequel.

The original, something I called a “beside game” was so very fun and I can only imagine the good times to come in this one.

When they build it, we will buy it. Hopefully this year.

The 2010 year is squeaky clean and brand new, but Nintendo has huge plans for it. We already know two huge names, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M will hit shelves this summer, but might the second Zelda title for Wii drop this year too?

Nintendo’s Cammie Dunaway, speaking with Wired, hinted at a 2010 release for the hotly hyped game.

She explained Nintendo’s strategy and why a Wii Zelda sequel to round out the 2010 year seems pretty likely.

“One of the things that’s true for Nintendo is that we’re not driven by a calendar for our release dates. When the games are ready to go, when the quality is perfect, that’s when we release.

“We all benefit if we can keep a pretty steady pace, so the development teams have worked hard to make sure that we’ve got a full lineup this year. If you compare the first half of 2010 with the first half of 2009, it’s night and day. And from some of the things that Mr. Iwata has talked about, and that we will talk about at E3, like Zelda, you know that we’re going to have a good back half of the year, as well.”

There you have it ladies and gents, this may be the year to be a Nintendo fan. Galaxy 2, Metroid and Zelda in the same year? Wowzers.

More Tony Hawk, more plastic skateboard peripheral on the 2010 horizon.

Anyone who knows anything about skateboarding knows failure is part of the sport.

Following that thought-process, Activision today revealed that it has plans for another Tony Hawk skateboarding game for 2010, and it’ll use the motion-based plastic skateboard peripheral.

“Game ratings for Tony Hawk: Ride weren’t as high as we would have hoped last year, and in hindsight it took longer to optimize the hardware, leaving less time to develop the software we launched in 2009,” said Mike Griffith, President and CEO of Activision Publishing. “Still, play-testing and consumer feedback have been very encouraging.”

You’ve got to wonder. If this sequel performs as poorly as 2009′s Tony Hawk: RIDE, will Activision axe the series entirely? Man, that’d be a HUGE blow to Mr. Hawk’s manliness, don’t you think?

Todd Phillips confirmed today a "Hangover" sequel was completely in the works.

Todd Phillips confirmed with MTV today that a “Hangover” sequel was completely in the works, slated to hit the big screen in 2010.

Warner Bros. had been in talks for the sequel before “The Hangover” even hit theaters last week, showing its faith the film would be the box office success it turned out to be.

When Blast had a chance to speak with “The Hangover” star Ed Helms, he had not been under the impression a sequel was as set as it now is. He told Blast the talks were to get ahead of the game so they were not faced with waiting too long to get a sequel in the works like they did with “Old School:” a sequel that recently popped up on IMDB after the successful opening weekend of “The Hangover.” Sounds like Warner Bros. has some big plans for their hit R-rated comedies.

Phillips confirmed that his four leading men: Helms, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha would all be returning for “The Hangover” sequel. So what exactly will the sequel be about? With the film still a year away, nothing can be certain, but we like Helms’ suggestion best:

“The only way to heighten “The Hangover” I think, is to take it outer space. So yeah, I think it would be a bachelor party in a space station.”

That is definitely something we would pay to see.
