We’ve seen a number of teasers and trailers for next month’s superhero team-up Blockbuster The Avengers, but we’re now finally getting our first full clip from the film — and it’s a doozy.  Check out Scarlett Johansson, as The Black Widow, busting out of captivity and kicking some bad guy ass.

The Avengers hits theaters nationwide May 4.

An upcoming film following the making of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” is due out next year, and Scarlett Johansson will be making an appearance as Janet Leigh in the notorious shower scene.

The original film tells the tale of a secretary who runs away to get married after stealing money from her employer, only to get murdered by the owner of a hotel she stays in along the way. The violence in the film was the first of its kind, and shocked viewers.

Now, Sacha Gervasi directs a film chronicling the making of the original, centering on the relationship Hitchcock and his wife, Alma Reville, held, and the struggles behind making a film so controversial. Hitchcock will be played by Anthony Hopkins, and Reville by Helen Mirren.

Johansson’s role as Leigh in the shower scene reportedly took seven days to film.

After nude pictures leaked of Scarlett Johansson, the actress and her attorney are requesting that the hosting sites immediately remove the pictures.

Johansson’s attorney, Marty Singer, sent a furious letter to the websites to remove the “stolen copyright protected private photos,” according to the Toronto Sun.

Singer threatened to take legal action in the letter if the editors fail to comply.

“If you fail to comply, you will be acting at your own peril. Please govern yourselves accordingly,” Singer said in the letter obtained by TMZ.

The images show Johansson in her house “in a state of undress and/or topless.”

This leak is believed to be the work of a ring of hackers who have released other celebrities’ nude photos.  The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating., however TMZ reports that the FBI already knows the identity of the ringleader.

There’s a hot new look for the hottest season: red hair. Although just two percent of the population are said to be natural redheads, one look at the TV and the latest magazine covers proves that many more want to be!

Some celebrities, such as Rihanna and Paramore’s Haley Williams, are choosing very bright “look at me!” shades of red that add extra oomph to their larger-than-life rock star attitudes. More recently, we’ve also seen “Gossip Girl’s” Blake Lively and aptly-named Scarlett Johansson take on subtler red shades in preparation for upcoming roles. Natural blonde Drew Barrymore also recently went red.

Yahoo.com reports that many of the most recognizable fiery-haired celebrities are not natural redheads, citing Lucille Ball, “Mad Men’s” Christina Hendricks, “Sex and the City’s” Cynthia Nixon, and “Will & Grace’s” Debra Messing; they’ve all been faking it for years, and many of us couldn’t picture them in any other shade. Blast spoke with in-home beautician Arielle Ferguson from Salem, Mass., for tips on how the everyday woman can successfully pull off the trend.

First, consider your skin tone. “If you have a golden tone, try a deep auburn red to make you hair really stand out,” says Ferguson.  “An olive complexion works well with a darker shade like a burgundy. If you have a pale skin tone, stay away from bright reds, instead opting for a coppery shade.”

Different hair colors will absorb the red tint differently, so it’s best to ask your stylist how to get your desired look. For instance, naturally lighter hair may turn orange if handled aggressively, and naturally darker shades may first need to be chemically lightened to achieve the right look.

Ferguson advises, “Bring pictures of the color you want to help your stylist get a sense of what you’re looking for in terms of the brightness or intensity of the color.”

If you have to do it at home, start with a semi-permanent shade until you’re sure you’ve gotten it right; red is the hardest color to apply and hardest to remove, celebrity stylist Tracey Cunningham told Yahoo.com. You should also use a shampoo and conditioner formulated to preserve your color and prevent fading. Root touch-ups will likely need to be done every several weeks, but lighter shades may need the entire head recolored every couple of months, Cunningham adds.

So what makeup goes with your new shade and what color clothes should you wear?  ”Try earthy colors on your eyes,” says Ferguson. “Or, for a nighttime look, use red lipstick to make your mouth pop and swipe a brown or black liner on your eyes.”

Beauty and fashion advice website Greatest Look suggests avoiding purples or pinks in your wardrobe that can clash with your hair, but it’s a matter of personal preference. If you really love a clashing color, Greatest Look suggests accessorizing in that color or simply wearing it as far away from your face as possible. Green also offsets red in the color wheel, so search for a shade of green that works; the lighter your hair, the lighter the green in your clothing should be. Knowing your color “season” can also point you in the right direction.

But when it comes to red hair, the most important accessory is you! Work your confidence to show off your bold new look, because blondes don’t have all the fun anymore!

According to People, Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn were spotted holding hands at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner after-party in Washington on Saturday night.

Even though we previously reported that they aren’t dating, it was a few months ago and who knows what’s happening now, really.
Johansson’s date was initially her brother, Hunter Johansson, at the annual event before joining up with Penn at the Vanity Fair/Bloomberg bash. It was reported that they left together around 2:30 a.m.

Also, Johansson and Penn have also been seen together in Mexico before.

As awards season comes to a close, I was prepared last night with popcorn in one hand and my picks for the office Oscar pool in the other. Next to winning the pool, the best part of the awards show is the red carpet fashion, for better or for worse.

Looks I love

Mila Kunis wore a beautiful light lavender dress with a plunging neckline and lace detailing by the Elie Saab Spring 2011 Collection. Jennifer Lawrence was the first on the red carpet and set everyone up for great fashion choices throughout the evening. Her red, fitted Calvin Klein dress showed off her amazing figure. I was impressed with and am obsessed with Giuliana Rancic’s bold print, dramatic gown that was designed by none other than “Project Runway” winner Christian Siriano. Wearing a maroon, backless, lace Dolce & Gabbana gown, Scarlett Johansson made quite the impression on the red carpet.

Notable looks

These fashion icons are getting mixed fashion reviews around the globe. All of the dresses are fabulous, but their stylists could have done a little more to make these looks really work. Gwyneth Paltrow wore a modern silver metallic Calvin Klein gown. The dress is gorgeous, but the shiny color would have been more age appropriate for a younger starlet. Halle Berry looked amazing, as usual, in a nude, jewel-encrusted Marchesa gown, but this dress would have popped more against her skin if it were a different color. Cate Blanchett wore a unique lilac and mustard colored piece by Givenchy. I appreciate Cate’s choice for something different, but the jury is still out as to whether the front of the dress was a bib made for my four-year-old cousin. Jennifer Hudson’s dress last night was the best PR move Weight Watchers could ever have. She looked absolutely breathtaking (and thinner than ever) in Versace, but she could have used a little more coverage in the cleavage area.

They could’ve done better

Nicole Kidman’s Christian Dior gown from the Spring 2009 Collection was too structured, too white, too detailed, too much! Reese Witherspoon always looks beautiful, but her black and white Armani Prive gown and Barbie-inspired high ponytail may not have been her best choice; we all know she can do better. Marisa Tomei’s prom nightmare, a vintage gown by Charles James, should have stayed in the closet. Not only was the dress ill-fitting, but the color was far from flattering and the poofy taffeta bottom was, well, taffeta. After all of the build-up, I found the awards show less than exciting, and some of the fashion followed suit, including Amy Adams’ deep navy gown (again). Even with seven costume changes, Anne Hathaway’s surprise singing was more of a standout than her fashion picks.

Best accessories

I can’t possibly write about the Oscars without noting Natalie Portman. She looked amazing last night  in a Rodarte violet silk chiffon dress. She again chose to wear stunning accessories from Tiffany & Co., which turned out to be quite the good luck charm! Speaking of hot mamas, the hottest accessory for a man to have last night was undoubtedly his mother. Russell Brand opted for the non-traditional dark blue suit with his mother by his side (wife Katy Perry was on her world tour). Mama Timberlake by son Justin’s side has this girl dreaming that Justin’s relationship with Jessica Biel will soon be over. He looked amazing in his Tom Ford tailored tuxedo; so ladies, if you need a date to next year’s Oscars, maybe he’s your ticket — fingers crossed. Until next awards season!

Actress Scarlett Johansson’s rep has officially denied the actress is dating actor Sean Penn.

US Weekly reported that the 26-year-old actress and the 50-year-old actor might be dating after they were spotted dining together at Los Angeles hot spot Chateau Marmot.

But Scarlett’s rep told E!, “Scarlett and Sean are not dating – they have been friends for years. Nothing more, nothing less. They have been talking over the last few months regarding Haiti Relief and Scarlett’s upcoming trip to Haiti as Oxfam’s Global Ambassador.”

Johansson recently announced her split from husband Ryan Reynolds, while Penn is newly divorced from Robin Wright.

According to People, they commented in a joint statement, “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”

It was reported that Johansson initiated the split. Ironically, last month, Reynolds was named as the People’s sexiest man alive and commented that marriage life was “You get to hang out with your best buddy every day.”

The couple had a private ceremony surrounded by their close family and friends back in September 2008 in Reynolds’ hometown, Vancouver.

Ryan Reynolds was named as this year’s sexiest man alive by People magazine, a title George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp have been named in the past.

The actor told People, “My body naturally wants to look like Dick Van Dyke. When I stop training, I turn into a skin-colored whisper.”

Regarding the title that he got, he commented, “You just have to go with the flow. This gives my family entre into teasing me for the rest of my life.”

He also mentioned his wife Scarlett Johansson, “Now it’s going to be, ‘Sexiest man, take out the garbage.’ That does sound better. The most difficult part is going to be organically working this title into a conversation with random strangers.”

MTV also talks about that he played some sexiest roles in several movies, such as “Definitely, Maybe” “Van Wilder” “The Proposal” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and “Green Lantern.”

The past two years have been particularly prolific ones for singer-songwriter Pete Yorn, who released two records in 2009 (Break Up, a collection of duets with Scarlett Johansson, and solo effort, Back and Fourth) and is now touring behind a self-titled solo record which was released last week.

Yorn will likely showcase material from the new record when he plays Northampton’s Pearl Street Ballroom tonight.

The record, incidentally, came out almost by accident, after Frank Black of The Pixies approached Yorn about recording together in 2008, at the same time he was preparing to record the songs that would eventually become “Back and Fourth.” Not wanting to miss an opportunity to record with one of his influences, Yorn took a break from the project, flew to Oregon, and recorded “Pete Yorn” with Black acting as producer during a whirlwind, impromptu five-day studio session, while also battling the flu.

Lyrically, the album feels a bit rushed (and understandably so). But musically, it’s on point. Yorn has said that Black took a more back-to-basics approach, and songs like “Rock Crowd” and first single “Precious Stone” are indicative of that. One of the strongest tracks is a cover of Gram Parson’s “Wheels.” The folky, acoustic guitar and harmonica-laden sounds that dominated Yorn’s debut, 2001′s musicforthemorningafter are almost nowhere to be found. Instead, his fifth solo effort is his most plugged-in release to date.

Be sure to pick up Entertainment Weekly’s second annual Comic-Con preview issue this Friday which will feature the awesome cast of Iron Man 2 and exclusive photos of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, according to EW.com.

The film, which is set to release in May of 2010, includes new stars Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Mickey Rourke as Whiplash and is welcoming back Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, along with Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts.

In addition to some new enemies, there will be a little more sexual tension in this film, Downey told EW. ‚ With Potts’ promotion to CEO of Stark Industries and the introduction of Natasha (Black Widow) as Stark’s sultry new assistant, the audience will be praying for a catfight.

“We’re horny,” said Downey. ‚ ”Not, like, can’t-bring-your-kids horny, but just”¦horny.”

Super-stud Ryan Reynolds is gracing the cover of Entertainment Weekly tomorrow, coinciding with the opening of “The Proposal,” a romantic comedy where he stars alongside Sandra Bullock.

The rock-hard Reynolds bares his summer bod for the mag, leaping through its pages shirtless, shooting water guns, showing off his amazing physique and still managing to make our hearts stop beating with that innocent, school-boy smile.

EW has provided a glimpse of the interview they had with Reynolds, whom they claim is as humble as he is hunky. ‚ However, Reynolds is very careful not to rely on his image as a sex symbol.

“If you take any of that seriously,” he said,” you need to be euthanized, ASAP.”

Instead, Reynolds relies on keeping himself busy with work and his new marriage to Hollywood vixen Scarlett Johansson. But if you think you’re going to get any details on Ryan and Scarlett’s private life in the article, think again. Reynolds is reticent on his personal life, neglecting to say anything about his married life except that it is “fantastic.”

Love triangles. Desperate women. Desperate men. Lots of tears. It sounds more fitting for 3 p.m. on ABC, but it all comes together on the screen in “He’s Just Not That Into You,” a fictional story based on a non-fiction advice book “He’s Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys” by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo.

Let me save you two hours: If you’re a single guy (me) you’re going to come out of this movie feeling hopeless (though why you’d go see this movie, I do not know). If you’re a single girl, you’ll come out of this movie with a rejuvenated sense of hope. If you’re gay, you’ll just laugh (the gay angle makes more sense after you see the movie). And if you’re a guy in a relationship going to see this movie with your girlfriend, you’re not going to get any that night.

Try to absorb all this:

The movie opens on Gigi, (Ginnifer Goodwin) a desperately single woman who goes out with greasy real estate agent Conor (Kevin Connolly). Conor never calls Gigi after their first date, but Gigi sits by the phone hoping beyond hope that he’ll call. She eventually decides to “casually stroll into” Conor’s usual bar hangout where she meets bar manager Alex (Justin Long — the Mac guy) who takes poor Gigi under his wing, explaining, deftly and darkly, the true nature of guy-girl interactions.

Queue Ben (Bradley Cooper) and Janine (Jennifer Connelly), the token married couple in the film. They are pouring their yuppie dollars into renovating brownstone when Ben gets tempted by a yoga instructor-come-singer named Anna (Scarlett Johansson). Conor is in love with Anna, and they are technically dating, but Anna treats Conor like a best friend — ergo, she doesn’t screw him anymore. Anna gets bad advice from her best friend Mary (Drew Barrymore) who works in advertising sales for a gay lifestyle magazine. Anna decides to pursue the married Ben.

Then we have Neil (Ben Affleck) and Beth (Jennifer Aniston) who have been together for seven years but aren’t married, despite Beth’s desire and the fact that all her sisters are already married off. Neil is Ben’s best friend.

Finally, Mary is struggling with her own pseudo-single-ness, dealing with guys that text message, web chat, and MySpace her instead of call. Facebook would have made the movie seem less “2005.”

The whole shtick takes place in modern Baltimore, and it’s nice to see a city besides New York and Los Angeles portrayed.

The movie has an undoubtedly all-star cast. Affleck and Aniston seem like elder statesmen, and each give strong performances. In many ways, this is a break out film for both Justin Long and Ginnifer Goodwin. “He’s Just Not That Into You” was the #1 movie Friday night, with more than $10.5 million coming in at the box office.

Goodwin was (albeit purposefully) a little annoying, and Long seems to try just a bit too hard to sell his character as a chick magnet, but it’s obvious as the baton gets passed to these two young stars and that we have more to expect from them down the line.

The movie was full of “awwww’s” and hateful hisses from the largely female audience which really got emotionally invested in the film. It was a bit too long at 2:10, but that’s not surprising considering how many stories the ending had to tie up.

Scarlett Johansson plays a skank surprisingly well and comes off particularly sexy, even for her, and especially considering the shockingly wholesome temperature of the entire movie.

It’s a total chick flick, and “He’s Just Not That Into You” isn’t a movie made to please critics.

Playing to its base it does well.
