It may not come as much of a surprise, but Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 6 is in development — and its scheduled to release this November.

The announcement came when a teaser countdown at NoHopeleft.com ran out, announcing the latest entry in the long running action/survival horror franchise. The game casts players in the shoes of the franchises’ two biggest names – Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield for the first time.

“Resident Evil 6 represents a giant stride forward in the evolution of the series,” commented Katsuhiko Ichii, Head of R&D and Global Marketing via official press release. “The development team, led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, is working tirelessly to deliver the most impressive Resident Evil title ever both in terms of scope and production values. We are all genuinely excited by the title and cannot wait to share it with the world.”

Resident Evil 6 releases for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 20 and the PC soon after.

Welcome to a new feature here on Blast, the Community Debate, where we all debate the hottest stories in gaming. To start us off, Capcom’s somewhat shady tactics with it’s new 3DS title; Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. the background: It was discovered this week that the game features undeletable save files. So, once you start a game, you can no longer start over.

While Capcom states that the move was not meant to stop second hand gaming, they it seems awfully fishy and retailers are showing mixed plans on how to deal with the game. UK retailer HMV will not be taking any trades on the game whatsoever. Gamestop originally said they wouldn’t be taking the game in, but has since changed their mind. “”GameStop did ask the US store base to stop accepting trades on Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D as we evaluated the save system for the game,” said the company. “Upon further review of the process with our publisher partner, Capcom, GameStop will resume taking trades on the game effective Wednesday, June 29.”

So, what do you guys think? Is Capcom playing fair? Or are they merely protecting their bottom line? Is the industry over reacting to the used games community?

We want to hear you — debate!

A look back at the games that had us up all night

The survival horror genre burst onto the scene in 1996 with the release of Resident Evil on the Playstation console. I was 12 years at the time and one of my friends had rented the title. As we played into the night with the lights off I was horrified. The first gaming experience that legitimately had me shaking with fear anticipating what would be around the next corner. The success of Resident Evil gave birth to many other survival horror franchises. There were titles such as Silent Hill, Dino Crisis, and Fatal Frame that broke onto the scene in the light of Resident Evil’s success.

The genre stood strong and most of the titles that kept gamers frightened were being released by Capcom, the same studio responsible for Resident Evil. The strength and popularity of these titles eventually lead to movie franchises for Resident Evil (first film released in 2002) & Silent Hill (first film released in 2006). The movie franchises are still releasing films and standing strong, but I want to talk about the gaming market. The late 90′s and early years of the new millennium saw numerous entries into the survival horror genre. However, as it stands right now, the genre definitely has a weak pulse.

These days some gamers would say I am crazy and the genre is very much alive and well. The comments would go something like “What about games like Left for Dead, Dead Rising, Fear, and Zombie Apocalypse?”. I have one thing to clear up, I consider a survival horror title to actually be scary and suspenseful. The recent zombie craze is amazing and I myself enjoy every game that comes out where I can bash the undead to bits. But the problem with these games being considered survival horror is zombies have a comedic aspect to them. The horror and suspense is getting lost in a new trend towards over the top new ways to chop zombies up year after year. The craze has gone so far that zombies are even popping up in other genres. Take Call of Duty Black Ops with its zombie mode, for example.

You may be asking yourself what games are out there right now that are true survival horror? The last entry in the Resident Evil series was a solid survival horror game Resident Evil 5. The game was basically made for co-op play (which turned off some reviewers) and there hasn’t been a better way to sit in the dark with a friend over xbox live or PSN. The next entry in the series was recently announced by Capcom. The Fear franchise is another one that is true to survival horror in every way, nothing like a scary little girl to keep you using a night light. The next entry F3AR will be releasing in March 2011. The last franchise I will touch on which I feel is the definition of survival horror and had me shaking in my gamer chair with the first title is Dead Space. The creepy silence of space, and morbid creatures that lurked around each corner gave me chills. The fact that you never saw the main characters face, and the fact that he wasn’t a bad ass space marine by any means made you feel the character was vulnerable. The level of suspense while playing this title was always at 100% I never felt safe or like I had time to breath with certain death around most corners. That being said Dead Space 2 is being released January 25 2011 be very afraid and excited of course if you are a fan of the genre. I hope you enjoyed reading this article and what are your thoughts on the survival horror genre as it stands in gaming right now?

While you slept last night, Platinum Games revealed its newest game on GameTrailersTV.

Titled “Vanquish,” this new title is a product of Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series and founder of Platinum Games, the guys and girls who brought you Madworld and Bayonetta.

The trailer is interestingly live-action, a trend we’re seeing more and more of, but we’re not really sure what’s going on in it.

Some force, perhaps aliens, attack the United States, and you play as a dude who resembles Master Chief.

No mention was made of what system(s) the game will release on, but we’ll guess Xbox360/PS3.

Fortune, Glory and Gore. Here's our take on Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles.

I’ve been hooked on arcade light-gun shooters since I played the original House of the Dead all those years ago. The zombie genre has, for the most part, lost its horror component and is now firmly entrenched in the action-adventure genre with the added bonus of much more gore. Capcom’s follow up to Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles follows a similar method: two recreated stories (Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica here) with an original story that binds the two together. It pays homage to the original fans while drawing in gamers who are unfamiliar with the game franchise’s mythos.

Shooter
Publisher: Capcom
Developer: Cavia
Nov. 17, 2009

The game opens up with "Operation Javier." Leon S. Kennedy and his new partner, Jack Krauser, explore Latin America while trying to find the head of a major drug cartel with ties to the Umbrella Corporation. When zombies appear, Leon recognizes that there’s trouble ahead, while Jack wonders about what he’s gotten himself involved in. Leon then explains the events of Resident Evil 2 in "Memories of a Lost City" and Claire Redfield’s story in "Game of Oblivion." With 5 playable characters (Jack, Claire, Leon, and Steve Burnside), we’re thrust straight into the world of Resident Evil and experience the some of the earlier games from an updated perspective.

This is an on the rails shooter in the vein the House of the Dead series, which isn’t that bad. The style is a fitting way to retell the stories while focusing on a new element of gameplay for the series. In an attempt to preserve the horror based nature of the original games, Capcom made sure that the when you move the Wii Zapper the camera moves with you. This makes it seem as if you are actively participating in the game instead of on a set track. It’s an interesting concept, but it isn’t fully realized. If you’re worried about playing the game with the Wii Zapper, you should know upfront that you can still play even without the Wii Nunchuck. The game’s functionality allows it to be played with solely the Wii remote. You can still pick up peripheral items such as weapons and medicine and use them as you go through the game’s levels. Aside from that, you’re just along for the ride. You can switch between weapons by applying the weapons to the directional arrows. A quick tap will switch weapons quickly in order to effectively fight off enemies. As you explore the game, you can find pieces of gold or hidden files which allow you to upgrade your weaponry and expand the story, respectively. This helps new players understand the story better with a look down the rabbit hole, while veterans of the series will be able to enjoy the power that comes with weapons upgrades.

Visually, this game is a labor of love to the original games. While the plots have been cut down to the essentials, the attention paid to the details of some of the more iconic settings from Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica is simply amazing. Old fans of the game will want to play this game if only to see the events unfold in such a visually stunning manner. While it retains the anime quality, there is also a level of realism involved which complements each other well and draw you into the game.

Now that you have a basic overview of the game’s strong points, we need to focus on several major weaknesses. One of the biggest problems with this game is the AI. When playing solo, the AI doesn’t really help out that much and for the most part, I felt I was playing alone since I was the only one taking out the Infected. Not only does the AI not help you fight through the game, it screws you over every chance it gets. If you’re tempted to turn your back on the path you are heading to see what’s going on behind you, I warn you: don’t. Just don’t. When you turn around you will be pleasantly surprised by the wave of zombies which have come to maul you to death when you’re not looking. Whenever that happened, I would lose a large amount of life or be killed straight off. This aggravated me to no end, especially in conjunction to the camera movements.

While I understand that the camera movement is designed to simulate human head movement and maintain a horror vibe, but it comes off as an annoying aspect of the game. In House of the Dead, you point the Wii Zapper but the screen remains static. This makes it easier to aim. In Darkside Chronicles, the erratic nature associated with the Wii Zapper’s movement *can* induce motion sickness. When playing multiplayer, the only weakness that came up is that you can’t jump straight into the action like with House of the Dead or Dead Space Extraction. Instead, you need to wait until you’ve completed the round before you can bring in your partner to take control of the AI partner. That, and the shared ammo depot which one player can run out for both if you’re not careful, are the two things which bring multiplayer down.

Blast Factor: This is a decent on the rails shooter which will be a fun trip down memory lane for veterans and something interesting and entertaining to draw new gamers into the series. The game is sleeker than Umbrella Chronicles and recreates classic scenes from the franchise’s history in a new way. The three central stories come together in a relatively neat manner and the game has a lot of replay value since you can run through each scenario from two perspectives and take different paths to make it through to the end. You may find the Wii Zapper controls a bit obnoxious, but once you get over it you’ll be able to enjoy the game. It’s a solid video game and a decent shooter for the Wii, so if you already own House of the Dead 2 & 3 The Return or Dead Space Extraction then pick up a copy of Darkside Chronicles during the Holiday Sales.

Take one part Resident Evil and add it to Lost Planet 2 and what do you get? Well, besides a Capcom clusterf*ck, what you get is Albert Wesker, playable in Lost Planet 2.

It’s simple. Pre-order Lost Planet 2 at any North American GameStop location and you’ll earn a code to download the skin of Resident Evil’s iconic character, Albert Wesker.

Not good enough? For slapping $5 into the hands of a GameStop employee for the reserve, you’ll also score yourself Wesker’s firearm, his revolver, which we can only expect will come in handy somewhere down the line.

Lost Planet comes to Xbox 360 and PS3 February, 23, 2010.

Resident Evil Zero on Wii gets a release date and a price for the Holidays!

Resident Evil fans will be pleased this year. Resident Evil 5, Darkside Chronicles and now Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero! Resident Evil Zero for Wii will be released December 1 for $29.99. This will be a great Holiday gift for anyone who was a fan of the GameCube game but wants to play it with the Wii control system. For those of you who haven’t heard of the game, Resident Evil Zero is a prequel to the original game and highlights the internal tyranny of Umbrella Corp and the origins of the T-Virus through the eyes of rookie S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team member Rebecca Chambers. Rebecca is joined by escaped convict (and ex-Marine) Billy Coen and together, they delve into the mysteries around Umbrella Corp.

I wasn’t really a huge fan of the GameCube game, but I think that by porting it to Wii, it might be interesting to play through again. It’s available for a good price and will probably be a good choice entering the holiday season.

The signature horror franchise delves into the waters of the PSP next year.

In a Sony media briefing earlier today chock full of titles including the likes of God of War 3, Uncharted 2, and a new Metal Gear Solid title for the PSP, Sony had one final trick up their sleeve in the form of shocking horror.

The franchise in question?‚ How about the epic and horror-laden Resident Evil? Sound good?‚ Great, because Sony is set to usher in a new wave of zombie-killing fun with an original Resident Evil title set to release sometime next year.

Sony unveiled literally nothing about the game except the fact it exists and is likely not a re-make, spinoff, or side-story, though we really don’t know at the moment.

The follow-up to one of the best games of last generation is ambitious and fun, but it's also an unfocused mess.

The fifth iteration of the Resident Evil franchise does a lot.‚ It’s got fan favorite Chris taking the reigns and guiding himself and a female colleague, Sheva, through all the twists and turns that gamers have grown accustomed too.‚ Guns?‚ Check.‚ Action?‚ Check.‚ Women?‚ Check.‚ Unbelievable monsters?‚ Check.‚ A convoluted story that unfolds through six chapters and inevitably concludes exactly where you expected it too?‚ Check.

It’s still a fun game to play.‚ Whether you’re playing through the game by yourself or with a friend, it’s still fun.‚ A few things have changed however.‚ Firstly, the fact that you have a partner apparently revolutionizes the way you play Resident Evil.‚ If you remember Resident Evil 0, where you play through the game as the medic from the original Resident Evil, Rebecca, and her ex convict friend Billy, who fight their way through a train, then you’ve played computer co-operative Resident Evil.

Third-person action
Capcom
Mar. 13, 2009

As if Capcom thought their first attempt at co-op was a failure, or wasn’t as fun as they would have liked, they brought it back (Leon Kennedy RE4, solo).‚ Now, considering this is a next-gen video game, the A.I. of Sheva throughout the game is better, and I emphasize better, than any computer controlled character to ever be featured in a Resident Evil game.‚ It’s not perfect.‚ She still has a tendency to stand in the wrong place at the wrong time, or just expel all of her ammo without even taking into consideration that she might need to save it.‚ She may have a knack for finding herself trapped in situations that you are not in, and that you, being the human player, must then turn around and fight your way through hordes of enemies just to progress further in the game. ‚ I guess that’s the game trying to imitate the experience of playing with another player but if you’ve even got one friend who’s played Resident Evil before, it will be easier.

By lacking the ability to replicate A.I. that you can feel safe with, the combat becomes more of a, “HELP ME!” tap B to save, affair.‚ It’s much harder to manage two inventories, to delegate who opens what, due to the fact that the combat is so intense, opening the inventory mid battle can become more of a hindrance than a benefit. ‚ The inventory system is accessed through tapping Y, but it doesn’t pause the game. If your partner runs out of ammo in a town where your mission is to outlast a horde of the infected, good luck getting out alive.

The weapons are well polished and easy to use.‚ Weapons like the proximity mine add some variety to the combat.‚ Upgrading is a must but with the ability to continually purchase newer handguns even though I’ve been upgrading another one teases me.

Besides having to baby-sit when you’re playing by yourself, RE5 does have some redeeming qualities.‚ The graphics are polished, everything from Chris’ uncomfortably muscular body to the facial expressions of the boss as he talks his plan (Wesker from Resident Evil), all look pretty fluid and realistic.‚ The game play itself, the aiming and shooting, the melee combat, the knife, is all fun.‚ In RE5, the melee combat system gets an overhaul.‚ Now each character has options for how they wish to pummel their enemy.

However, Chris and Sheva can’t just pummel any enemy.‚ New monsters like the Executioner, a monster wielding a bladed sledgehammer spice up the combat.‚ The return of the Licker was a nice inclusion.‚ The Licker seems like a close relative to another new monster, the Reaper, who has an irritating way of one hit killing both Chris and Sheva whenever they’re near.‚ It’s best to just run past them, and get away.‚ Otherwise, get used to having about seven total bullets for most of the game.‚ But, you should already know that you can’t kill all of them.

Quick-time events are strewn throughout the cut scenes to keep the player involved.‚ It’s a good way to maintain attention.‚ But wait, shouldn’t my attention always be towards the game because it’s completely entertaining and interesting?‚ Shouldn’t I be able to play through the game and understand the story completely, understand why there are mutated Africans attacking my character and his friends?

You’d think they might have taken that into consideration, you know, the story and the dialogue.‚ However, from the first mission it is clear that the developers didn’t want to distract gamers with a story.‚ Forget empathy, forget even sympathy, here is some formulaic dialogue.‚ A character I used to think was a pretty good protagonist, Chris, becomes a variable to an equation.‚ Instead of having him do what any rational person would do and assess the situation he’s throwing himself into (mutations, rival, love, safety, just to name a few), he blindly runs through hordes of mutated things for another Resident Evil character, Jill.‚ You see, they were partners.‚ And partners never ditch each other, right?‚ Yeah.‚ Totally.‚ Real people never do that.‚ So he instead runs through the game spitting phrases like, “Let’s do this together,” and “we’re partners, together until the end.”‚ The entire time I was playing, I expected that at the end Chris and Jill would fall in love or something, or Chris and Sheva.‚ Instead, he says almost absolutely nothing after he saves her and just stares at her.‚ I don’t know how that comes across to you, but to me that is creepy and cheap, they could have developed their story more.‚ Not only is that formulaic but by the end, Chris hasn’t changed at all.

The approach to the story is boring and I had to wake up a friend of mine who dozed off listening to Chris make his way through the game twice.‚ The only character worth anything is Wesker, the villain.‚ The actor playing his voice put a little effort into it.‚ The dialogue I can’t fault him for, considering it’s just a rehash of every other game about fighting super powerful bad guys who mutate into monsters.‚ When is the archetypal villain who is out for global domination going to lose its appeal?

While the primary story involves a friend in search of a friend (yay!), the setting is created by the development of a new virus.‚ This virus infects people and mutates them.‚ Instead of zombies, because that’s apparently not scary enough, Chris and Sheva have to fight aggressive Africans whose faces mutate when they try and eat you but otherwise are mostly black and have weapons like flaming crossbows.‚ Some of the scenes were over-the-top, like the motorcycle battle.‚ Yeah, that’s cool.‚ But, I’ve played Gears of War before; I’ve fought that battle before.‚ I want some horror, some survival.

The boss fights range from aim and shoot to an endurance contest.‚ Turret battles with various monsters are too easy.‚ And, the fact that they are extremely mutated does two things.‚ Firstly, it makes the battle more epic.‚ The size and the grotesqueness of the creatures attempt to intimidate the player. ‚ Secondly, it changes the genre of the game.‚ If you wanted survival horror you’re looking in the wrong place.

Previous Resident Evil games used zombies and the psychological connection that the characters themselves could turn if bitten as an important part of the game.‚ Not only did numerous protagonists throughout the franchise have to pump bullets into zombies, but those zombies could be and/or are their friends.‚ Instead, by the absurd amount of tentacles and blood and teeth, RE5 has the opposite affect.‚ The gamer is detached from the idea that they are to be afraid of the monsters and instead are reimbursed with confidence (weapons and ammo and combat).‚ You can look at this as the shift from Survival Horror to Action Adventure.

Aside from that, the Mercenaries mini game is still fresh.‚ With the ability to play it with a friend and a larger selection of characters I had more fun playing it than anything else.‚ The online aspect is good, and I’m hopeful that they allow downloadable characters (Barry Burton please), as well as stages.‚ But, if you’re a fan of Resident Evil, especially Resident Evil 4, you won’t find much of it in this package; just the game play and the universe.

Have a Wii? Not feeling the love? Capcom has major plans for 2009. You'll want to read this.

Resident Evil 5 launches on PS3 and Xbox 360 tomorrow, but where is the love for Nintendo and its crazy popular Wii console?‚ With Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles selling so dang well, a sequel must be in the works, right?

Right.‚ Capcom announced today its ambitious 2009 plans for the shiny white console including an Umbrella Chronicles sequel and revamped versions of two popular Resident Evil GameCube titles.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, currently in development with a winter 2009 release time frame, is the sequel to Umbrella Chronicles its story is based on Resident Evil 2 and includes the popular characters, Leon S Kenney and Claire Redfield.‚ Darkside Chronicles will employ the same “rail shooter” game-play and its story will clear up any plot confusions from the original.

Two player co-op and a new evade system spruce up the game mechanics allowing for more depth in a somewhat tired arcade system.

“We are very excited to be bringing the sequel to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles to the Wii as it’s the perfect fit for the platform,” said Mona Hamilton, vice president, marketing, Capcom Entertainment. “We are always looking for new ways to give Capcom fans a chance to experience our games. Umbrella Chronicles was a huge success for us, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles includes a more in-depth co-op experience, and we are excited to bring this exclusive content to the Wii audience.”

Capcom follows Nintendo’s lead in revisiting and overhauling popular GameCube titles with the motion sensing awesomeness found only on the Wii.‚ The “Classic Line” of Resident Evil titles includes Resident Evil Zero and the legendary original Resident Evil each retrofitted with Wii remote support.

Darkside Chronicles hits retail this winter, while the two remakes find their blood drenched way to homes everywhere sometime in 2009 at $29.99 a pop.

See Wii enthusiasts.‚ Capcom has your back.

Ray Huling tackles the issue of race in Resident Evil 5, alongside famed Resident Evil guru Vincent Merken.

Machete Death in Africa

Does it matter that Vincent Merken and I cut down a crazed, diseased, machete-wielding black man in an African shantytown?

We did it in the Resident Evil 5 demo, playing co-op on Xbox Live; I from the U.S., he from Belgium. Vincent played a hulking bruiser of a white guy, while I played a small, lithe woman who could pass for what‚ Southern Africans call ‘coloured’-a person of mixed race.‚ Together, we hacked at our enemy with our huge knives until he melted into a mass of brown bubbles.

Does it matter why we did this? Or how our characters looked when it happened? Or how we responded to doing it? Would it matter if the man had tentacles sprouting from his face? And why’d we use knives, anyhow?

Answering these questions requires an outlook as cosmopolitan as the game itself, which portrays the outbreak of a contagion that transforms humans into monsters in the small, fictional, sub-Saharan nation of Kijuju. Resident Evil 5 depicts people of many different races, being careful to render them and their surroundings as realistically as possible, while maintaining an atmosphere of sci-fi horror. Both gaming and mainstream media have begun a debate over whether the game’s depiction of black Africans makes use of racist stereotypes.

The debate matters because of the game’s stature. Capcom’s Resident Evil series belongs to the canon of gaming. Its games have sold more than 34 million copies and won wide critical acclaim. Resident Evil 5, the twentieth game in the line, has raised its already high profile with its move to Africa. Imagine‚ one of the innumerable and wildly popular World War II shooters suddenly changing its setting to Vietnam, circa 1969. Very few games feature the Vietnam war, for the same reason that few games feature Africa’s problems with disease, poverty, violence, and exploitation: both subjects evoke shame. Players accept this reasoning on Vietnam; they seem to have more difficulty with Africa.

Also controversial, though less charged, is Resident Evil 5′s control scheme, which remains virtually the same as the one featured in the first game in the series, 1996′s Resident Evil. The hype around the game has placed it under assault from all sides, from both gaming and cultural perspectives. Responding to these issues means placing that murderous moment shared by Vincent and me into context-in both game and real-world terms.

Resident Evil 5 will take a beating. Players will attack the game without mercy, and so will the media. Vincent and I will play the game to death, testing its limits, while critics will decry the game’s handling of its African setting. Both approaches are perfectly justified, because both rely on a certain kind of cosmopolitanism.

There are two senses of ‘cosmopolitan’. One refers to a person who acclimates easily to foreign situations; the other to a morality that ignores cultural boundaries. The first concerns Resident Evil 5′s gameplay, the second concerns the way it portrays black Africans.‚ Understanding this game requires‚ both viewpoints. For this reason, I came calling on Vincent.

Who is Vincent Merken?

Let me tell you about Vincent Merken.

In the vast library of Resident Evil esoterica available on the Internet there is an extraordinary document known formally as “Resident Evil-Plot Guide” and colloquially as “The Resident Evil Thesis”. We’re talking over 115,000 words of Resident Evil plot analysis. Begun by Dan ‘President Evil’ Birlew and overtaken by Thomas Wilde, the text covers the series up to the 2007 port of Resident Evil 4 for the Wii, but just one section concerns us here: an examination of wild theories called “The Weirdest of the Lot”. Birlew and Wilde debunk a rumor that you can unlock Street Fighter’s Akuma as a playable character in Resident Evil 2:

According to Electronic Gaming Monthly, if you beat the game in under an hour and a half, using *only* the handgun and knife, Akuma would become playable. Vincent Merken did it, for he is ninja, and it didn’t work.

Yes; contemplate that passage for a moment, and it will reveal to you the Meaning of Merken and of Resident Evil. From the start, the series has won fans for its flexible gameplay. You can play Resident Evil games in myriad ways-using only the weakest weapons or rushing through the game as quickly as possible. Vincent belongs to a community of players who have pushed this play to extremes. Ripping through Resident Evil 2 at that speed with such limited firepower is downright amazing. This kind of achievement requires both mad dexterity and long study of the game’s mechanics.

Resident Evil: Extinction on Blu-ray is an excellent high-def adaptation for this video game movie. Granted, the movie got poor critical acclaim, but if you are a fan of the franchise, this one looks and sounds awesome.

The Blu-ray features 11 deleted scenes, director/producer commentary, four “making of” featurettes and a preview of Resident Evil: Degeneration, the upcoming CGI-based film.

Exclusive to the Blu-ray release, you can also use “Blu-wizard 2.0″ to create your own playlist of special features. More importantly, the Blu-ray disc features”Under the Umbrella: Picture-in-picture,” which features interviews with cast and crew, storyboards, photos and behind the scenes clips that play within the feature.

Milla is back in this third piece of the Resident Evil pie. The film is packed with zombies, blood and gore, and it also stars Ali Larter, Ashanti and Mike Epps.

Resident Evil: Extinction is now available on DVD and Blu-ray for $28.95 and $38.96. There is also a PSP Universal Media Disc version for $24.94. Finally, you can get all three Resident Evil flics in a Blu-ray trilogy for $89.95.
