Acclaimed singer-songwriter and all-around beauty Nelly Furtado has a “best of” album dropping Nov. 16.

It’s incredibly hard to believe it, but the “I’m Like a Bird” singer has already been around for 10 years. Her first album, Whoa Nelly! was double platinum. She dropped a big, but followed up with a 2003 gold album called Folklore.

The new album, The Best of Nelly Furtado, will feature her original hits and three previously unreleased songs. There will be a standard and 2-disc edition.

Of the previously unreleased recordings, “Night Is Young,” the album’s first single, was co-produced by Salaam Remi (Nas, The Fugees, Amy Winehouse) and Staybent Krunk-A-Delic, and co-written by Nelly Furtado. Producer Remi and Furtado also co-wrote “Girlfriend” while “Stars,” was produced by Lester Mendez who co-wrote the track with Furtado.

Furtado is working on a video for “Night is Young.” She has a fifth original album coming early next year.

Nelly Furtado is set to release a collection of live performances from her 2007 Get Loose World Tour. A DVD will feature 17 songs from her set list (including a cover of Gnarls Barcley’s “Crazy” previously not released in the U.S.) and a half hour of documentary footage. The music CD version will consist of 11 songs.

The Grammy winner was the top selling female artist for 2006-2007, according to Geffen Records, her label. Her third album, Loose, has been certified gold or platinum in 31 countries with sales reaching seven million.

“For the last eight years I’d never really traveled with a full production of lights, visuals and dancers,” said Furtado who was backed by four dancers and a six-piece band for her “Get Loose,” “but this tour I had all of it, which was a real treat.”
