Funcom’s MMORPG, Age of Conan is set to expand next week with the release  of the game’s first proper expansion, Rise of the Godslayer.

But, before the expansion can hit May 11, a launch trailer is in order, is it not?

Thankfully, Funcom provided the trailer and we’ve snagged it from the interwebs for your convenience.

As the weather heats up in the coming months, so does the action in KingsIsle’s free-to-play MMO, “Wizard 101,” as two new expansions were announced today offering up a new pet system and an entirely new world.

Arriving in April will be a new advanced pet system, allowing players to hatch customized pets from millions of possibilities, raise, train, level, race them and even use them as allies in duels.

Then in “late summer,” the underwater world of Celestia will make its way to the game, furthering its reach and scope. With it comes a raised level cap (from 50 to 60), all new quests, and three additional secondary schools of magic. Interestingly, gamers can embark on quests in June to seek out clues concerning Celestia and its secrets.

If the wildly expansive and seemingly limitless possibilities of The Sims 3 wern’t enough for you, Electronic Arts today announced “The Ambitions Expansion,” the second expansion to the world of The Sims 3.

As the name so very clearly implies, the expansion brings about a host of new career paths for your little guy or girl to embark upon.

A few of the careers can affect your entire town. If you choose to be an architect, your designs will shape your environment. And if you’re a stylist or tattoo artist, your wacky hairstyles and ink designs, performed on friends and neighbors, will stay with them as long as you allow it.

Other ambitions include Ghost Hunter, Sculptor and Private Investigator.

Maybe best of all, with the new jobs, you can follow your Sim to work and actively participate in what he or she does or doesn’t do while there. Make a house call and try an experimental medicine on a patient, travel to a raging inferno as a firefighter and save the day, it’s up to you.

“The variety of careers to choose from is unmatched and we’ve never given players the opportunity to follow their Sims to work and affect their actions on the job,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims Studio at EA. “The Sims 3 Ambitions changes that. Players’ actions at work now directly affect their lives, community and neighbors and become an extremely important part of how the game is played.”

The Ambitions Expansion Pack comes to PC and Mac in June with iPhone and iPod Touch versions slated for later in the year.

As if Middle Earth wasn’t large enough already, Turbine, developer of the MMORPG “Lord of the Rings Online,” released the Siege of Mirkwood today for North American servers bringing about a host of new and intriguing options for enthusiasts.

Gamers who purchase the digital download expansion can enjoy new environments including the treacherous and dark Mirkwood forest, the legendary evil fortress of Dol Guldur, new Legendary items, an increased level cap (65), and Skirmishes.

These Skirmishes are repeatable and randomized instances aimed at helping you train your soldiers for the larger battle at hand.

"Today we unveil LOTRO’s second major expansion and let players enter the legendary forest of Mirkwood and experience the climax and conclusion to Volume II of our epic story," said Jeffrey Steefel, Executive Producer of The Lord of the Rings Online.  "The response from our players and the press has been nothing short of outstanding and serve as a real validation of LOTRO’s position as one of  the world’s premium online games."

I’m a huge believer and fan of MMOs, but the sheer amount of time they take up, to effectively and enjoyably play them, restricts me from partaking.

Sims Faithful, this is a message for Y-O-U-. The Sims 3′s first retail expansion, “World Adventures” has gone gold, and will soon be available at retail for your creepy, God-like obsessions.

Going gold means the game is finished, done, complete, and is headed to a massive copy-factor for millions of discs to be burned so the game can make its Nov. 17 retail date.

That’s right, in just a few short weeks on Nov. 17, “World Adventures,” a $19.99 $39.99 add-on to the World of The Sims 3, where you’ll take your little guys and girls around the world to China, Egypt, and France, comes to PC and Mac in 60 countries and 22 languages. Wowzers.

Additionally, EA today announced a “Sims 3 Holiday Collector’s Edition” with promised Holiday content packed inside, though more specifics weren’t given.

Electronic Arts detailed The Sims 3′s first expansion “World Adventures” today, naming Shang Simla the second location you and your Sim can travel to when the pack hits in November.

EA says that in Shang Simla, you’ll explore and uncover ancient relics in the Dragon Cave, encounter Terracotta Warriors, kick back and relax in the Serene Scholar’s Garden, snoop around the Marketplace, journey to vibrant and colorful landscapes and most importantly, hone your Martial Arts skills. Phew, think you’re up for all of that?
