Rockstar Games today announced that Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City is finally confirmed for release on Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Windows Live.

When March 30, 2010 rolls around, the double pack Episodes From Liberty City will appear at retail everywhere and also as individual episodes, Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost And Damned on the PlayStation Network and Windows Live marketplace.

Now, some PS3 owners might be thinking “too little too late.” And understandably, because the time these episodes arrive, GTA:IV will be nearly two years-old, but Rockstar has yet to say anything about the next core GTA title, so it could be years off, leaving you more than enough time to enjoy these truly terrific expansions.

Today’s the day you’ve been waiting for, as both The Ballad of Gay Tony and Episodes from Liberty City are available for Grand Theft Auto fans that own an Xbox 360. You can pick up the brand new DLC for one of our Game’s of the Year from 2008, Grand Theft Auto IV, over Xbox Live; you’ll be fabulous in no time as you enter the world of Gay Tony and the club scene of Liberty City. Don’t own Grand Theft Auto IV? Or maybe you missed out on the first expansion, The Lost and the Damned? Rockstar has you covered on that note too, as Episodes from Liberty City is a standalone Grand Theft Auto experience, with its own multiplayer component and no GTA IV requirements whatsoever.

We’ll have a full review of the new packaged title, Episodes from Liberty City, in the near future. Personally, I’m looking forward to it for the same reason I love Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars: it looks completely over the top and like Rockstar pulled out all of the stops on both a humor and action level.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City has launched, so we’re in for a hell of a treat. This weekend, from Friday, Oct 30 to Sunday, Nov 1, we’ll be able to experience multiplayer in Liberty City with special gamers from Rockstar North and singer/composer Henry Santos Jetere (from Aventura). The Multiplayer experience will be FREE all weekend for people playing Grand Theft Auto IV or Episodes from Liberty City. Here’s the breakdown:

Everything’s looking good for Rock Star. With the new release of GTA: Chinatown Wars and Episodes from Liberty City, it’s no surprise they want to give something back to us, their fans.
