The Eclipse Litetouch Keyboard is a wireless keyboard that can either connect via USB or Bluetooth with pretty decent range (seems like it loses its juice once you are 15-20 feet away). This sleek looking keyboard also offers a little trackball mouse (with left/right click capabilities) so that the keyboard is essentially an all-in-one peripheral. The mouse isn’t the greatest, but it will certainly do the job for web browsing and the like. The mouse would not be good if you are trying to play a game on the computer, for example. The keyboard is also backlit, which looks really nice and is easy to see when used in the dark, and it has a lit up touch pad on the side that I will later go into further detail with. The keyboard works with any computer and also works with my ps3.

The keyboard has a rechargeable battery inside that can be recharged through a wall socket or through a USB attachment directly with the computer. The battery is strong, it can be used regularly for a few weeks without needing a recharge and the recharge itself goes relatively quickly as well. The keyboard is light and mobile and the keys feel good and solid to the touch. But what sets this keyboard apart from the others is the touchscreen to the right of the keyboard.

When you purchase this keyboard, it will come with a disc that you can install on the computer that lets the user create shortcuts directly from the keyboard’s touch screen. Out of the touch screen controls, the user has the ability to change the computer’s volume level and brightness level through one of the touch screen’s icons and you’ll also see the keyboard’s battery level through an icon on the touch screen. The touch screen also offers three different modes: number pad, favorites, and music/file controls. The music control mode will allow you to pause, record, play, rewind, etc. when you play music/video files. You can have particular music or videos turn on once you press the corresponding icon if programmed and there is also the mode that gives you a functional number pad. You can program in favorite website shortcuts, command shortcuts, or even program shortcuts in the favorites mode. What is also unique is that you can save different profiles so that if multiple people are using the keyboard they can have their own settings, commands, favorites, etc. saved as a profile and when others want to use the keyboard, all of their saved settings are just a click away.

The only problem that I have seen or heard about this product is the connectivity of the keyboard. Sometimes there are minor malfunctions that make the keyboard lose connectivity with the computer and that can be frustrating for users if they have to keep trying to figure out how to get the peripheral re-connected. Otherwise this is all in all a really nice wireless keyboard if you are in the market for one. The attached mouse and the functionality of the tough screen really bring the keyboard home for me. It really has everything you need as far as a mouse/keyboard is concerned. Look online for decent prices.

You'll want to comment on this one

See also:
The Top 10 “Twilight” book series moments

The Twilight movies have possessed the interest and passion of millions, but what are the best moments? Well, first we have to ask if we’re watching the movies to get lost in a world of true love, transcending friendship and hunky mystical creatures; or to laugh at ridiculously awkward moments, contorted expressions and corny dialogue.

Answer: to get lost.

But what scenes do we love the most in the films? Riding motorcycles, playing baseball, fighting a new born army, kissing vampires, kissing werewolves, punching werewolves, racing through Italy, crashing cars, camping out, wondering if Jacob owns a shirt, climbing like a spider monkeys, drinking Bella’s blood, having flashbacks – there’s just too many right?!

10. “I have a date with Edward Cullen” — “Twilight”

Ahhh, if only that were true, but day dreaming about changing places with Bella isn’t what makes the scene where Bella (Kristen Stewart) tells her father Charlie about her date to play baseball with Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). So, what does?

Billy Burke, need I say more. Charlie earned himself an unexpected fondness in the films that he didn’t have in the books. Sure he’s that same cute, protective, humorous father from the novels, but he’s got a lot more spunk. And this moment is classic Charlie.

“He’s right outside,” Bella says. “He is?” Charlie asks, not sounding the least bit excited.

“Yeah, he wanted to meet you…officially.”

“Alright,” Charlie says, snapping his gun closed and earning a roar of laughter. “Bring him in.”

Bella hesitates. “Could you be nice? He’s important.” Charlie draws a halo over his head – love it. Then to round the scene off, “Hey,” Charlie calls as Bella leaves with Edward. “You still got that pepper spray?”

9. Jacob’s a WOLF! — “New Moon”

“What did you do? What did you do to him? He didn’t want this!” Bella screams in Paul’s (Alex Meraz) face – she really does love danger doesn’t she.

“What did we do?! What did he do?” Paul demands, already shaking to change into a wolf. “What did he tell you?”

“Nothing, he tells me nothing because he’s scared of you!”Bella yells.

Paul laughs – a bit psychotically; and Bella punches him.

Seconds later she’s running from a wolf Paul, screaming, “Run. Jake, run!”

Jacob (Taylor Lautner) jumps over the railing of his house, and…Woops – guess Jacob’s secret is out! Jacob’s transformation was a turning point of the series. Bella witnessing it helped mend their friendship, which as we all know the series couldn’t exist without.

But that’s not why this seen is so great. No, here it’s all about Bella punching a werewolf for the first, but not last, time.

8. Car Crash — “Twilight”

Aka, Bella finds out Edward isn’t exactly normal.

Bella and Edward exchange brooding and longing looks across the parking lot. Tyler’s van loses control barreling straight for Bella, but at the last moment Edward saves her.

A shocked Bella meets Edward’s horrified stare just before he flees. It’s another turning point in the film, setting Bella on the path that will lead her to that gorgeous meadow with Edward. But more than that, it’s the first of many times that Edward risks his safety for Bella.

It may be corny, but the scene is incredibly romantic. The way they stare at each other and the magnitude to which Edward shows his attachment to this fragile human steals audience’s breaths.

And of course the scene ends with one of Jasper’s (Jackson Rathbone) famous and hilarious looks of rage as he steps forward only to be restrained by Alice’s (Ashley Greene) hand.

7. The Kiss — “Twilight”

It’s hard to pick just one Edward/Bella kiss isn’t it? They’re all so great, but the first kiss is the sweetest as they say.

“How’d you get in here?” Bella asks, shifting closer to Edward on her bed.

“The window.”

“Do you do that a lot?”

A gorgeous smile from one Edward Cullen. “Just the past couple of months. I like watching you sleep. It’s, uh, it’s kind of fascinating to me.” Love that voice of his. “I just want to try one thing. Stay very still…don’t move.” Those are the words that started the most suspenseful, long and just plain hot kiss of the Twilight saga, and had women everywhere on the edge of their seats holding their breaths.

6. The All American Pastime — “Twilight”

What would Twilight be without those good old family, vampire moments? The baseball scene is packed full of small flashes that bind the movies and characters together.

With an awesome Muse song in the background, the Cullens have one cool stunt after the other. From Alice’s pitching to Edward and Emmettt’s (Kellan Lutz) midair collision to Emmettt’s tree climbing, it’s an exciting scene that will make viewers smile every time.

And of course we can’t leave out Rosalie’s (Nikki Reed) look to kill when Bella says, “You’re out,” or Carlisle’s (Peter Facinelli) laughing, “Nice kitty,” that follows.

Then there’s my personal favorite – Jasper. There’s something incredibly sexy about that bat flipping trick he does; and there’s something even sexier about his southern draw when he says, “Oh, I think we can handle that,” to Victoria’s wicked curveball comment.

5. Meet the Volturi — “New Moon”

Volturi – that really says it all. When we meet the Volturi in Italy, Bella has just raced thousands of miles to save her man only to be thrown into the hands of the volatile and menacing Volturi.

The legendary vampires watch Edward and Bella with curiosity and disturbing interest. The slightly manic Aro (Michael Sheen) reads the mind of a drugged looking, but still charming, Edward. We witness Jane (Dakota Fanning) torture Edward with perhaps the most awesome power of the series so far.
Then she turns on Bella, “This may hurt just a little,” an awesome line, followed by a confounded Jane whose powers don’t work on the human – ha-ha Jane. Isn’t it satisfying to see her pissed off?

Felix goes for Bella, Edward intervenes, and the tension just continues to pile up as Felix slams Edward to the floor cracking both it and Edwards’ face. Felix gets a hold around Edward’s neck and Bella screams in panic, “No, please, please. Kill me. Kill me not him!”

We see love so strong nothing can triumph it, a love that compels the ultimate sacrifice of one’s life for another.

The fervent devotion Bella has for Edward continues to be showcased when Aro walks toward her and says, “You would give up your life for someone like us – a vampire, a soulless monster.”

Bella steadies herself and says fiercely, “You don’t know a thing about his soul.”

Hot vampire action

2.5 out of 4 stars

I feel almost like I should grade “Eclipse”, the third in the “Twilight” series, on a curve.

While viewing the movie, I was reminded of my thoughts regarding books the series is based off of. I read the first one. I didn’t particularly like it, and I didn’t have the urge to read more. But all in all I found the novel thoroughly inoffensive. Good to see young girls (and their mothers) reading anything, I thought. It’s not progressive in its views or even terribly well-written, but why should boys get all the fanboy fun? Bring on the hot vampire action!

Directed by: David Slade
Written by: Melissa Rosenberg (screenplay)
Starring: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner
Rated: PG-13
Seen at: Regal Fenway Cinemas

I feel the same about “Eclipse.” The third installment of the vampire sensation that’s sweeping the nation is a fun diversion, and even sometimes enjoyable for the non-Twi-hard viewer. It’s got humor, a healthy dose of self-awareness and a surprising poignancy.

The story takes place during the last few months of heroine Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) time at Forks High School. She’s already made her icy soulless beloved Edward (Robert Pattinson) promise to change her into a vampire once she’s graduated, something he’s endlessly trying to persuade her not to do. Jacob (Taylor Lautner), her Native American/Werewolf friend is trying to convince her that she belongs with him and his pectoral muscles. Meanwhile, the vamp Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) is busy raising an army of bloodsuckers in Seattle to make war on the Cullens, with the ambivalent aid of the Volturi (or, as I like to think of them, the Vampire Vatican.)

One of my colleagues made the comment that this might be the Twilight episode that boyfriends of Twi-hards might be able to enjoy, or at least tolerate. I’m not totally sure I agree, but the action sequences are riveting, with expert use of hand held cinematography and smooth CGI. I could have used more time dedicated to the climactic fight- you couldn’t shave off a few minutes of Edward and Bella discussing yet again how dangerous it is to become a vampire?

Writer Melissa Rosenberg, God bless her, does her very best with translating Stephenie Meyer’s eggplant purple prose onto the screen, and managed to inject some much-needed humor into the mix, much of it extremely self-aware. “Don’t you own any shirts?” growls Edward at the perennially half-naked Jacob. For the most part, though the dialogue is pretty painful, with Pattinson repeating “I won’t let anything happen to you, Bella.” or “It’s too dangerous, I can’t let anything happen to you, Bella.” or “Bella’s in danger?!” over and over with varying degrees of urgency.

Pattinson, Lautner and Stewart don’t seem to act so much as pose their way through the film provocatively (and in Lautner’s case, shirtlessly). Their performances are less wooden than in “Twilight” and “New Moon,” but I still found myself cringing through a lot of their exchanges. Stewart especially seems incapable of letting any emotion cross her face, assuming that “determined” means she can never crack a smile or display any signs of personality.

There were some profoundly touching moments, however. The scene where Edward tells Bella that he wants to wait to have sex until marriage was incredibly sweet. “I’m from another time,” he says. “If I had met you then, I would have courted you.” Also lovely was a scene where Jacob gets into bed with Bella to keep her warm during a snow storm, while a jealous and resigned Edward watches. I’m an active member of Team Jacob, but dammit if Pattinson didn’t make me feel for Edward’s tortured sparkly soul.

As a feminist, I suppose I’m obligated to comment on the “message” of the movie. But I’m not going to, save for one comment: one of my favorite things about these silly films is that contrary to most mainstream movies the eye candy is decidedly not female. In “Eclipse” Bella’s almost always dressed in sweatshirts, flannel and jeans, her hair hanging in her face. The boys on the other hand are so very pretty, with their chiseled abs, brooding eyebrows and sparkly faces. In a world where the term “male gaze” is shoved down the throats of film students on their first day, the “Twilight” movies are attempting something that might actually be perceived as radical: they make the men the sex object.

So what the hell — it’s not great cinema, just like the books aren’t great literature, but it’s fun, and relatively satisfying. It’s the summer! Let’s crank up the Twi-mania to 11! And those werewolves look awfully uncomfortable in their shirts…

Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family are dazzling. The intense and brooding Edward is front and center, flanked by an oddly dark looking Emmet (Kellan Lutz), a guarded Alice (Ashley Greene), an always pensive Jasper (Jackson Rathbone), a serious Rosalie (Nikki Reed), and concerned parents Esme (Elizabeth Reaser) and Carlisle (Peter Facinelli).

Edward, Bella (Kristen Stewart), and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) each have their own poster. Edward is sporting his infamous heartbroken intensity. Bella is her conflicted, introverted self, and Jacob is confident and focused. The trio is also on a new poster together.

The villains of the story aren’t left out of the new line of “Eclipse” posters. Riley (Xavier Samuel) rises from the water, bringing a dark aurora tainted with certain death. Behind him is Victoria’s (Bryce Dallas Howard) army of newborn vampires, which she created to destroy Edward and Bella.

Volturi vampires Jane (Dakota Fanning), Felix (Daniel Cudmore), Demetri (Charlie Bewley) and Alec (Cameron Bright) also have a poster of their own.

The original “Eclipse” poster also featured main characters Bella, Edward and Jacob.

Brace yourself Twihards. Three clips from the third installment of the "Twilight" series have been released. "Eclipse" tells the continued story of the quiet and awkward Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), her vampire soul mate Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and her werewolf best friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) — who she may or may not be in love with.

"Eclipse" hits theaters June 30. Bella will be forced to choose between the two men she cares for most, Edward and Jacob. However, before she decides they’ll have to work together to save her from an army of vampires.

A Volturi scene was released earlier this month as an iTunes exclusive. Jane (Dakota Fanning) and her crew of vampires survey the vampire army. This scene is an especially special treat for all "Eclipse" fans since it did not appear in the book.

The clip opens on a Seattle rooftop with four Volturi members — the royalty of the vampire world — surveying the newborn vampires massacring the city streets. The vampire army was created by Victoria (Bryce Callas Howard), who made appearances in both "Twilight" and "New Moon," to destroy the Cullens and Bella.

"They’ve already drawn too much attention," Demetri (Charlie Bewley) says.

"So has our inaction," Felix (Daniel Cudmore) responds. "Other’s may begin to question the Volutri’s effectiveness. "

"Let them," Jane responds with an eerily impassive face and air of cruelty.

Felix breathes deeply, looking upset. "Maybe we should consult with Aro," he says, turning his back on the others.

Jane turns toward him a sickly, amused and intrigued look on her face. She then uses her power on Felix, which fans caught a glimpse of in "New Moon." Jane has the ability to make others feel pain with only a thought.

Jane incapacitates Felix. Demetri and Alec (Cameron Bright) watch as his body painfully contorts.

"Aro’s decisions are being watched," Jane says calmly. She is speaking of Alice Cullen’s (Ashley Greene) ability to see the future.

Jane releases Felix, and he collapses with a thud.

"Either we let them do what they were created for, or we end them," Jane says as she looks down on the vampire army attacking people in a dark alley lit by fires.

She sighs heavily. "Decisions. Decisions."

This 40 second clip gives viewers an intriguing sight of what to expect in "Eclipse" — more of the badass Volturi! Jane and her followers don’t disappoint. Dressed in their long black robes, their red eyes shining and faces emotionless, this crew of vampires is pleasantly disturbing.

A scene featuring Jacob, Edward and Bella was released on the Oprah show. Looks like Hollywood really spiced up this cherished book scene. Twihards who have read the series might feel their heart beating a little faster than it usually does as they remember this Edward-Jacob encounter. All of Edward’s cool, suave composure is gone only to be replaced by an edgy rage that is a bit overwhelming.

"Edward!" Bella says anxiously.

"If you ever," Edward growls, pushing Jacob, "touch her against her will again."

Jacob shoves Edward away, and Bella places on hand on Edward’s arm. "Edward," she tries to calm him again. "Don’t do this here," she begs.

"She’s not sure what she wants," Jacob says angrily. He steps closer to Edward.

"Don’t do this here!" Bella tries again.

"Let me give you a clue," Edward yells. "Wait for her to say the words."

"Fine," Jacob rasps. That arrogantly possessive look he has so often shines in his eyes. "And she will." Jacob breathes heavily, his body shaking. (Calm down, Jacob. You don’t want to go wolf boy.)

"Jacob just go, okay," Bella begs.

"Hey. Hey. Hey," Charlie’s (Billy Burke) voice sounds from off-screen. "Easy guys. Easy." He puts his hands between Edward and Jacob to separate them. "Let’s take it down a notch." He looks at Jacob. "Alright?" (Why do you like Jacob so much better than Edward, Charlie?)

"What’s going on?" Charlie asks.

Edward’s face in drained, pale. The devastatingly tortured look Pattinson is famous for wrenches at viewers’ hearts.

"I kissed Bella," Jacob responds.

A third "Eclipse" clip was released on the Ellen Degeneres Show. This breath-catching scene features Bella and Rosalie Hale (Nikki Reed).

"Rosalie." Bella walks up behind the blonde beauty, who is despondently looking off the Cullen’s deck. Bella’s hand is wrapped in a cast. Possibly from punching a certain werewolf?

"I don’t understand what I did to make you hate me so much," Bella says timidly, with a quiver in her voice.

Rosalie laughs lightly, shaking her head. "I don’t hate you."

Bella eyes dart about in confusion, but she smiles slightly.

"I don’t particularly like you but…" Rosalie continues. "Bella, I envy you." Emotion creeps into the vampire’s voice.

"What?" Bella asks in surprise. "That’s ridiculous."

"No, it’s not," Rosalie responds quickly. Tears fill her eyes. "You have a choice. I didn’t. None of us did, but you do, and you’re choosing wrong," Rosalie says, urging Bella to change her mind about being turned into a vampire.

That’s right Twihards — we get to see a glimpse of the good side of Rosalie! This scene is most likely the prelude to a series of flashbacks revealing how Rosalie was turned.

This goes without saying, but "Eclipse" is an instant hit. The film is packed with more unyielding friendship, heart-twisting love, beautifully choreographed action and classic jokes than the first two films. Furthermore, it looks like Twihards are finally going to see more of those lovable personalities they fell in love with in the books but missed in the first two films — Alice, Rosalie, Emmet (Kellan Lutz) and Jasper (Jackson Rathbone).

“Kristen’s pregnant,” Pattinson joked. And Stewart responded: “He really loves to shock people because he thinks it’s funny. No, we’ve actually had this conversation. He’s having the baby.”

Well, at least they’re talking about it. They did not, however, confirm or deny, once and for all, whether or not they’re romantic.

“I’m obsessed with my cat,” Stewart said. “[We] have a very Edward-and-Bella relationship. It’s, like, very co-dependent with my cat.”

Taylor Lautner was there too.

Summit has just released the trailer to the much-anticipated “Eclipse,” sequel to “Twilight” and “New Moon.” Check back here tomorrow when the official full trailer is to be released. The trailer is also rumored to be playing in theaters before “Twilight” vampire Robert Pattinson’s new film, “Remember Me” (Check back Friday for a review of that movie as well).

In this clip, we see shots of Edward and Bella together, and Edward is telling her, “I know the consequences of this choice you’re making.” The choice, is, of course, to become a vampire. We then see a gratuitous shot of shirtless Jacob, then Bella canoodling with him, when he tells her “I’m gonna fight for you until your heart stops beating.”

Pretty much what we expected. Very serious, very dramatic. Oh, and Bella’s wig is looking pretty whack on top of KStew’s Joan Jett Hair. Do you agree? Let us know!

Julia Jones, a 29-year-old Boston native, will have a major role in the third movie of the Twilight series, “Eclipse,” the Boston Globe reported.

Jones will be playing Leah Clearwater, the only female werewolf. Leah is even cursed with the ability to read the mind of her ex-boyfriend. Tough break, especially considering the ex is in love with someone else.

Definitely sexy, and definitely angsty. Sounds like another tween fantasy hit.

"Because Stephenie Meyer wrote the layers, you’re kind of serving something else,” Jones told the Globe. "Usually you’re looking for any clue you can in a script – usually it’s skeletal, because it’s not prose. But in this case, there’s 3,000 pages of detail.”

Jones has acting experience in a few indie flicks and a small role in “ER.” She’s also done plenty of modeling, working for the Gap, Polo Ralph Lauren, Levi’s, Macy’s and more.

The movie is set for release June 30, and until then, Jones just has to prep herself for the notoriously crazy fans. Luckily, she has her co-stars to look to.

"I really am in awe of [their] ability to handle all of that,” Jones says. "It’s their job, and they treat it as their job. For whatever reason – and Taylor is 17 years old – they understand that. They’re so committed.”

Watch this video of Kellan talking with "Twilight" fans!

NATICK — “The Twilight Saga” is taking over the world, and Kellan Lutz took over the Natick Collection Mall to promote “New Moon.” The actor took part in a Q & A session with around 500 fans and made sure everyone would buy their tickets for the second installment of the saga, which comes out on November 20th. Watch the video below to see Lutz interact with his fans, answering their questions and joking about his cast mates, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Fans got to submit their questions before the Q & A session and Lutz, who plays Emmett in “Twilight,” answered some randomly selected questions and made the fans swoon with his charm. Here are some of the questions he got to answer.

QUESTION: How do you feel about being part of one of the biggest movie franchises of all time?

KELLAN LUTZ: You know what? It’s a real, it’s an honor to be a part of something that fans are so loyal to and support. It’s a magic carpet ride. To all of us actors, I think we really are living in this “Twilight” zone and it really hasn’t sunk into how big of a phenomenon it is.

Q: What is you favorite part of playing the role of Emmett?

KL: I love how much fun he gets to pick at Bella, especially in “Eclipse.” Kristen Stewart is amazing. Just to make her laugh when we were shooting and have her crack up. She would be like “I’m sorry Kellan, I can’t take it!” It’s so funny. It’s fun.

Q: What is it like playing a tough big brother?

KL: I have a lot of experience playing a tough big brother. I have a large family and I got picked on growing up and I did some picking on the little ones. So it’s always fun playing the big brother role, especially trying to crack jokes on Rob when he doesn’t get it. Again, we have such a great cast and we’re all, without any of us it wouldn’t be the family that we’ve forged.

Q: What is your favorite non-Emmett scene in “New Moon?”

KL: I’ll have to say just watching the Volturi. I never got the chance to meet them. But Michael Sheen’s amazing. I finally got to meet them while shooting "Eclipse," and they are a great group of actors.

Q: Do you have any secrets you can share with us about "Eclipse?"

KL: I’m topless throughout the whole movie, pretty much!

Q: What are your plans for after “The Twilight Saga” ends?

KL: I’m gonna cry and be depressed. I love being a part of this franchise. To have all you guys, fans, and to play Emmett…I wake up happy everyday and I’m not sad. But when it’s all said and done, I want to be the next action star. I want to play Jason Bourne.

Without sufficient fan support, the fourth movie could go unmade.

In a recent interview with Blast and other reporters, “Twilight” star Kellan Lutz revealed that there are no current plans to film the final chapter in the “Twilight” saga, “Breaking Dawn.”

The first three films have been made, but Lutz expressed the fear that if “New Moon” doesn’t get enough love from the fans, “Breaking Dawn” might never get made, leaving the saga permanently unfinished.

“We aren’t filming it,” Lutz said when asked about the progress on “Breaking Dawn.”

“It’s a real bummer,” he said, “because when we did ‘Twilight,’ we always hoped to continue on with the book series. Like you saw with ‘Aragon’ — the fans didn’t support it enough, so they didn’t make the sequel, which would suck.”

Some may find it hard to believe the the cultural phenomenon that is “Twilight” wouldn’t have enough fan power to propel the series to completion. But with no word from the studio and no actors under contract, “Breaking Dawn” falling through could become a real possibility.

“There’s no word on ‘Breaking Dawn.’ They said goodbye to all the crew in Vancouver,” Lutz said. “Like, a real goodbye.”

The actors of “Twilight” were under contract for the first three films in the saga. But with “New Moon,” the cast expanded, enveloping several big-name actors, including Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning. Suddenly, due to the popularity of the series, the actors of “Twilight” have rapidly filling schedules and less time to wait on studio decisions.

“Between ‘New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse’ I did three films,” Lutz said. “Us actors are having offers for tons of stuff now. To get the…actors that are a part of this — the Volturi, the wolves, the Cullens — that’s a lot of actors to just say, months before we shoot, ‘Hey, can you guys come do this movie?’ Because we don’t have contracts for it. So nothing’s telling us, you know, ‘Hold these dates.’ And there’s only a small time frame that we could shoot in…because of weather. So I hope they make their mind (up) after ‘New Moon’ comes out.”

In the end, Lutz said that it’s all up to the fans.

“We all fell in love with our characters,” he said, “all hoping that you know, we could continue on…it really matters for the fans, if they come out and support ‘New Moon.’ Because we all want to finish this baby. It’s such a part of us, and it would just seem empty not to finish the last chapter.”

Even before “Twilight” was ever made into a movie, fans have predicted and speculated on who they want to see portray each role in the saga. The most recent cast suggestion — Channing Tatum as vampire Riley — came from “Twilight” and “New Moon” screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg.

“Eclipse” the third installment of the “Twilight” saga will bring a few important new characters into the story, including the ravenous young vampire, Riley, who Melissa Rosenberg believes should be played by Channing Tatum. The 29 year old actor of “Step Up” and “Fighting” fame might have a lot to bring to the “Twilight” franchise, but Twilighters have someone else in mind.

Evil Iguana Productions’ Craig Deering has become a favorite of “Twilight” fans over the past few months after his role as James in EIP’s “Twilight” parody video, his appearance at the TwilightLive DVD release party in New York City and his upcoming appearance at TwiCon with fellow EIP member, Allen Murphy.

Twilighters are now showing their love for Deering by campaigning for him to appear in “Eclipse” as Riley. When HisGoldenEyes.com, one of the series’ most popular websites, ran a story on Tatum’s possible role in the film, the comment section was overwhelmed with votes for Deering to portray the character instead.

For example:

by amanda @ 01 May 2009 05:57 pm

by Blue @ 01 May 2009 06:04 pm

NO CHANNING! but I would see the movie five more times if Craig was cast! That would be seriously awesome and we know he actually can act… Summit should get on that pronto!

Hahaha I love Craig.

and

by ROLO @ 01 May 2009 06:05 pm

OME, Evil Iguana Productions? That would be so cool! Lol. I don’t know about Channing, I always thought of Riley as thin and lean, like a teenager for some reason. Plus, Channing reminds me of last semester’s health teacher. And that’s just … weird. Especially in that photo. Lol. =P

In that case, the buff Channing Tatum should probably step aside for the charmingly lanky Craig Deering.

Blast asked Deering himself what he has that Tatum doesn’t.

“I may not be able to swoon girls with my sweet dance moves or survive underground boxing” Deering replied, “however, I would bring a fresh approach to the character I am sure fans could appreciate.”

And the fans definitely do appreciate Deering already. Another comment on the story said “NO CHANNING! but I would see the movie five more times if Craig was cast! That would be seriously awesome and we know he actually can act… Summit should get on that pronto!”

Right now it is just another “Twilight” rumor going around, but Deering would be more than willing to make it a reality, as he said he would be “definitely all for it” given the chance to audition.

He gave Blast this heads up: “I’m actually planning a video campaign with two of my friends as a result of fans telling us we should audition, so they should keep their eyes on YouTube for that.”

And he just might be able to get Summit’s attention for that audition with enough fan support, which he has full faith in.

“The amount of dedication these fans have is amazing” Deering said, “and the amount of work they are putting into saying what they want is helping a lot.”

Has Deering got what it takes to step it up and beat out Channing Tatum for the role? Let Blast (and Summit) know what you think by leaving a comment below.

4.5 out of 5 stars

On August 30, Stephenie Meyer posted a notice on her official website saying that someone close to her who she had given an early draft of her upcoming novel, “Midnight Sun,” had leaked it onto the internet. “It has taken me a while to decide how and if I could respond. But to end the confusion, I’ve decided to make the draft available [on her website],” she said in her statement. “This way, my readers don’t have to feel they have to make a sacrifice to stay honest.”

“So where does this leave Midnight Sun? My first feeling was that there was no way to continue,” she wrote. “In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely.”

After reading the draft of “Midnight Sun” that was posted, I only have three words for Ms. Meyer: Please finish it.

For those readers who are not familiar with the concept of the novel, “Midnight Sun” is a rewrite of Meyer’s first novel, “Twilight,” from its hero’s perspective: Edward instead of Bella. She has even said before that, once she started writing “Midnight Sun,” she realized that she should have told the story from Edward’s perspective all along. She was right.

What made “Twilight” so interesting was the dynamic between Edward and Bella. Edward was torn between his “wants” for Bella; he was in love with her, and yet he wanted to kill her. In “Twilight,” the reader got a confusing take on his confusion from Bella. She was unsure of his emotions and reactions towards her, and so were we. Did he want to kiss her or kill her? Was it lust or bloodlust?

“Midnight Sun” clears those up. Finally, the enigma that is Edward begins to make sense. Sure, the novel remains about a third completed (the draft is only 264 pages long), but even only telling the story until the drive home after the tense Biology Movie Class Scene, so many puzzle pieces fell into place: What Edward did when he went North to escape Bella. Edward’s hand in Angela and Ben’s relationship. Edward’s real excuse for following Bella to Port Angeles. The extent of Edward’s love for Bella, and the explanation behind it.

Sure, Edward still is a creepy stalker who can’t get enough of watching Bella sleep, but it works because we have an explanation for it. Just like writing Bella’s pregnancy in “Breaking Dawn” from Jacob’s perspective led to some confusion and irritation over Bella’s motives for giving birth to what Jacob thought was a monster, writing “Twilight” from Bella’s perspective led to confusion and harsh claims against Edward’s character. Edward’s perspective is much more fun than it should be as it shows how he rediscovers his 17-year-old side after being trapped in the same body for almost a century. And that includes hormones.

While Edward’s voice is a lot more interesting than Bella’s (and significantly less annoying), “Midnight Sun” is still very much a chick read. I can’t see 14 to 21 year old boys going to a book store and wanting to swoon over Edward’s endless monologue about his love for Bella, but anyone who enjoyed the Twilight saga will definitely enjoy this installment.

The part of “Midnight Sun” that was the most fun was reading everyone’s minds (except Bella, of course) alongside Edward. Meyer is able to include scenes that Edward was unable to see by having him watch it from someone else’s perspective. It is fun to see how all the pieces that were missing from “Twilight” fall into place, and of course we don’t have the same frustration Edward has because if a reader wants to know how Bella is feeling, they can just flip to that scene in “Twilight.”

It is almost funny to see how Edward’s bias of Bella is almost as severe as Bella’s is of him. To Bella, Edward is the most attractive, perfect man in the realm of existence. To Edward, no one else can anywhere near compare to how delicate, pretty, and selfless Bella is. Seeing their views of one another makes it clearer that the “perfection” they find in each other is mostly their mutual love and a decent percentage exaggerated.

“Midnight Sun” is nothing more than a companion piece; don’t think that you can just skip over the Twilight saga and just start from Edward’s perspective because there are a lot of missing details that were explained in previous books and did not need to be explained again. For example, Peter and Charlotte are introduced early on in “Midnight Sun,” while Bella did not know that they existed until “Eclipse.” “Midnight Sun” is a fun way for Twilight fans to re-explore the universe that they had come to love in a new way, a way that will lead to many, many “Oh, well that makes more sense” moments.

So please, Stephanie, please finish writing “Midnight Sun.” After all, you can’t leave us hanging by not sharing The Meadow Scene from Edward’s perspective with us.

These are some of the greatest moments of Stephenie Meyer’s series. If you have not yet read “Breaking Dawn”, the fourth novel in the series, and do not want to read any spoilers, please do not continue reading this. If not, enjoy!

10 – The end of “Breaking Dawn”

“‘We have plenty of time to work on it,’ I reminded him.

‘Forever and forever and forever,’ he murmured.

‘That sounds exactly right to me.’

And then we continued blissfully into this small but perfect piece of our forever.”

9 - Bella and Edward’s first ever kiss from “Twilight”

“I couldn’t breathe.

He hesitated – not in the normal way, the human way.

Not the way a man might hesitate before he kissed a woman, to gauge her reaction, to see how he would be received. Perhaps he would hesitate to prolong the moment, that ideal moment of anticipation, sometimes better than the kiss itself.

Edward hesitated to test himself, to see if this was safe, to make sure he was still in control of his need.

And then his cold, marble lips pressed very softly against mine.”

8 – Jacob imprints from “Breaking Dawn”

“My jerking came to a stop; heat flooded through me, stronger than before, but it was a new kind of heat – not a burning.

It was a glowing.

Everything inside me came undone as I stared at the tiny porcelain face of the half-vampire, half-human baby. [...] The gravity of the earth no longer tied me to the place where I stood.

It was the baby girl in the blond vampire’s arms that held me here now.”

7 – The cliff jump in “New Moon”

“I smiled and raised my arms straight out, as if I were going to dive, lifting my face into the rain. But it was too ingrained from years of swimming at the public pool – feet first, first time. I leaned forward, crouching to get more spring…

And I flung myself from the cliff.”

6 – Bella first sees Edward in “Twilight”

“It was there, sitting in the lunchroom, trying to make conversation with seven curious strangers, that I first saw them.

They were sitting in the corner of the cafeteria, as far away from where I sat as possible in the long room. There were five of them. [...] The last was lanky, less bulky, with untidy, bronze-colored hair. He was more boyish than the others, who looked like they could be in college, or even teachers here rather than students.

[...]‘That’s Edward. He’s gorgeous, of course, but don’t waste your time. He doesn’t date. Apparently none of the girls here are good-looking enough for him.’ She sniffed, a clear case of sour grapes. I wondered when he’d turned her down.”

5 - The wedding from “Breaking Dawn”

“I didn’t realize I was crying until it was time to say the binding words.

‘I do,’ I managed to choke out in a nearly unintelligible whisper, blinking my eyes clear so I could see his face.

When it was his turn to speak, the words rang clear and victorious.

‘I do,’ he vowed.”

4 - Bella’s first kiss with Edward as a vampire in “Breaking Dawn”

“It was like he’d never kissed me – like this was our first kiss. And in truth, he’d never kissed me this way before.

It almost made me feel guilty. Surely I was in breach of the contract. I couldn’t be allowed to have this, too.”

3 - Bella punches Jacob in “Eclipse”

“Finally, he let go of my face and leaned away.

‘Are you done now?’ I asked in an expressionless voice.

‘Yes,’ he sighed. He started to smile, closing his eyes.

I pulled my arm back and then let it snap forward, punching him in the mouth with as much power as I could force out of my body.

There was a crunching sound.

‘Ow! OW!’ I screamed, frantically hopping up and down in agony while I clutched my hand to my chest. It was broken, I could feel it.

Jacob stared at me in shock. ‘Are you alright?’

‘No, dammit! You broke my hand!‘”

2 – The meadow scene from “Twilight”

“‘Isabella.’ He pronounced my full name carefully, then playfully ruffled my hair with his free hand. A shock ran through my body at his casual touch. ‘Bella, I couldn’t live with myself if I ever hurt you. You don’t know how it’s tortured me.’ [...] He lifted his glorious, agonized eyes to mine. ‘You are the most important thing to me now. The most important thing to me ever.’”

1 – The tent scene from “Eclipse”

“‘Please!’ Edward hissed. ‘Do you mind!’

‘What?’ Jacob whispered back, his tone surprised.

‘Do you think you could attempt to control your thoughts?’ Edward’s low whisper was furious.

‘No one said you had to listen,’ Jacob muttered, defiant, yet still embarrassed. ‘Get out of my head.’

‘I wish I could. You have no idea how loud your little fantasies are. It’s like you’re shouting them at me.’

‘I’ll try to keep it down,’ Jacob whispered sarcastically.”

SAN DIEGO — It was 10 o’clock Wednesday night and the San Diego Convention Center had just closed down the Comic-con festivities for the night, and yet mothers were setting up sleeping bags on the sidewalk as their daughters settled under blankets, snacking on chips.

When asked what they could possibly be waiting for outside the entrance to the convention center’s massive Hall H entrance, the reply was unanimous.

“Twilight.”

They would wait 16 more hours.

“Twilight” was released in 2005, and has spawned two sequels: “New Moon” and “Eclipse.” Collectively, the series has sold more than 5.5 million copies worldwide.

Taylor Lautner, who plays the character Jacob Black in the upcoming movie adaptation of the books said, “The fans are the driving force behind this thing.”

The series tells the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan, who meets the intriguing yet elusive Edward Cullen upon her arrival at Forks, Wash. Edward, as well as the rest of his family, turn out to be a secret coven of vegetarian vampires; they don’t kill humans. Bella and Edward’s inevitable love is doomed from the beginning as her being a human draws various “bad” vampires to come and kill her. In “New Moon”, a second love interest is introduced in the form of Jacob, Bella’s best friend who just happens to be a werewolf.

For the August 2 release of “Breaking Dawn,” Meyer’s fourth and final book in the series, distributors have printed more than 3.2 million copies; more than half the copies of the rest of the series now in print, and a record first-printing for “Twilight” publishing company Little, Brown and Company.

“Breaking Dawn” will answer the big Twilight questions: Who will Bella choose, and will she become a vampire?

Meyer’s saga has become a cultural phenomenon, though this year is by far its biggest yet. In addition to the release of “Breaking Dawn”, a movie adaptation of the novel will be released December 12 starring Kristen Stewart as Bella and Robert Pattinson as Edward.

This year’s San Diego Comic-con hosted a special event Thursday to promote the upcoming film. Meyer, director Catherine Hardwicke, and some of the movie’s cast attended the panel. Waiting anxiously for them were thousands of screaming fans, though only about 6,500 were admitted to the hall.

“I saw the book as a film before I saw it as a book,” said Meyer of her excitement for the “Twilight” movie.

The Comic-con event was the first experience the cast had of the true intensity behind the “Twilight” fan base, and it was clear from their faces and the nervous hitch in their responses that none of them were prepared for the thousands of girls, women and even men who were screaming their hearts out for the characters that had captured their hearts.

“I fell in love with ["Twilight"] just like you guys did,” said Hardwicke to the audience. “I wanted to see Bella and Edward living, breathing. You know we tried to do the best we could [for the movie].”

Stewart said that, as a “sappy, sensitive girl”, she took the role of Bella to try to depict the “perfect-but-not-perfect-but-perfect-in-its-ideologicalness love” felt between Bella and Edward.

“Bella and I are really different if you get inside my head,” said Meyer, who said she gets just as frustrated with Bella’s decisions as the rest of her fans. “I’m actually a lot more like Edward.”

Meyer was able to confirm that a song by Muse; her favorite band and some of the inspiration behind the series, had been signed for the movie soundtrack, while Hardwicke confirmed that two songs written by Robert Pattinson will be included in the soundtrack of the movie, and that his spontaneous piano playing during filming might be used as Bella’s Lullaby.

The three “bad vampires” were a large part of the panel; Cam Gigandet as James, Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria and Edi Gathegi as Laurent.

“I wanted to be a part of [Bella's] world in every way I could,” said Lefevre. “If that meant I had to terrorize her than so be it.”

Trailers and clips of the film, especially the extended “ballet studio scene” aired at during the panel, show the movie version of “Twilight” focusing more on action than the novel did. This is good news for Gigandet, Lefevre and Gathegi because that means more screen time for them before their inevitable deaths. For Gigandet, his comes at the end of the first movie.

“We don’t actually die because you’re stuck with us on DVD forever,” joked Lefevre.

Fans have been initially hesitant about how the cast compares to the characters, and none have felt this sting more than now-”Twilight”-golden-boy Robert Pattinson.

“I just wanted to play [Edward] because he’s the hottest vampire in the world,” said Pattinson with a laugh, causing a deafening scream from the crown.

“[Vampires are hot] because that’s how I write them,” Meyer added, which turned the screaming into a deafening roar.

Although movie adaptations of “New Moon” and “Eclipse”, the second and third novels in the series, have not yet been confirmed, the idea that the “Twilight” fan base will not cause “Twilight” to be a box-office smash, regardless of the quality of the film, seems nearly impossible.

“I would love to be in [a sequel]. Love to,” said Gathegi .

“So would I,” said Gigandet wistfully.
