xbox-infinity-2

Not much is known about the “next generation of Xbox” that Microsoft will reveal on May 21. Will it play used games? Will it require an always on internet connection? Will it include Bluray? Will it be as cool as X-men slots? Right now it seems like we’ve got more questions than answers, so why not throw another one on the fire? Recent leaked documents suggest that the new console will go by the name Infinity as opposed to rumored names like Durango (the name of the console’s development kits) or Xbox 720.

The rumor comes from an article  in The International Business Times, which seems pretty confident on their answers. “Sources related to development of the new Xbox have confirmed to IBTimes UK that the console… will be called Infinity,” the article states. The Business Times also states that the console will be on shelves by Holiday, putting it on shelves within the next six months.

We’ve reached out to Microsoft for comment and will update this story if we get any sort of response beyond the canned “Wait until the 21” answer. Stick with Blast for all of the latest Infinity news.
