Hey, remember Prey 2 — that game that everyone got really excited about a few years ago and then just disappeared completely soon after? You know, the one that Bethesda swears isn’t canceled?
Guess what, it’s still not canceled.
The latest non-news comes in the form of a tweet from Nathan Cheever, designer at Human Head — the studio currently developing Prey 2. In the tweet, Cheever describes the game as in Limbo, but definitely not canceled.
It’s curious that Cheever specifies that Prey 2 hasn’t been “officially” canceled. We’ve reached out to Bethesda for comment, we’ll update this story when we hear more.
Prey 2 was first announced in 2011 and scheduled for release this year, Blast even saw it at E3 2011 and was impressed. It was announced earlier this year that the game had been delayed indefinitely, commenting only that “due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards.”
