This past week, one of alternative-rock’s most popular acts The Gaslight Anthem brought their headlining tour in support of Get Hurt to Boston.

The show was opened by Twopointeight, a punk/rock band from Sweden. The band has a similar sound to The Gaslight Anthem, which makes a bit of sense – Gaslight’s Brian Fallon produced their new record.

Against Me! was the next band to play. Fronted by Laura Jane Grace, the band has been one of the most important in the punk scene over the past decade. The band’s most recent record, Transgender Dysphoria Blues was their first since Grace came out as a transgender woman, which met support all throughout the music scene. Their set was nothing short of impressive.

To round out the evening, The Gaslight Anthem played a 20+ song set, featuring numerous songs from Get Hurt, opening with “Stay Vicious,” and “1,000 Years” soon after. The band didn’t neglect old songs either, from “We Came To Dance” and “1930” off of Sink or Swim to newer songs, with every one of their full lengths represented. Brian Fallon’s onstage ramblings, which are always entertaining made for a solid night in between songs. They rounded out their encore with a cover of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” which was quite electrifying.
