Longtime pop-punk act New Found Glory came to Boston’s House of Blues last month, headlining a show of favorites from the alternative/punk scene. The New York-based punk act, H2O, opened the show with a shorter, fast-paced set, which set the energy level for the night.

Alkaline Trio came next. Around since 1996, the band has played their share of shows in Boston. As always though, the crowd gave them a warm welcome to the stage, and was energetic throughout their entire set. Their 18 song set included songs such as “Calling All Skeletons,” “Sadie,” “Time To Waste,” and “My Friend Peter.”

New Found Glory came out with an unprecedented energy level and kicked their set off with “All Downhill From Here.” The North American version of next year’s Vans Warped Tour has yet to reveal more than just a few bands in the lineup, but look for New Found Glory to be a possible attendee once again. Their set included a wide variety of favorites from their 16 years as a band, as well as a cover of Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” They rounded out the night with “My Friends Over You,” but came out for an encore of “The Story So Far” and “Intro.”

The band recently released a live album, “Kill It Live” which was recorded at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California. They are currently touring Australia as part of the southern hemisphere’s Vans Warped Tour.
