Calling all young witches and wizards:  wands at the ready!  We will soon be heading to the West End and Broadway to catch the new Harry Potter stage show.

Within the next two years, J.K. Rowling will be co-producing a new show based off her hit series Harry Potter.  Although she will not write the script, Rowling will collaborate with a playwright.

The show is headed by prominent London and New York producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender.

It will cover the previously untold story of Harry Potter’s early years as an orphan and outcast.

Rowling noted that she receives many requests to translate Harry Potter to the stage, but this vision “was the only one that really made sense to me” and seemed “appropriate for bringing Harry’s story to the stage.”
