Lions Gate Entertainment (Lionsgate) announced yesterday the start of production on the upcoming installment in the “Hunger Games” series, “Catching Fire”. The film will be shot predominantly in and around Atlanta, Georgia and in the Hawaiian jungle until production wraps in December of this year.

“Catching Fire” begins with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence)  living safe at home, having won the 74th Annual Hunger Games with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Soon, however, they find themselves required to embark on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts, once again leaving their family and friends behind.  Their travels bring them face to face with signs of a burgeoning rebellion, but the Capitol is still very much in control – and President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is preparing the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) to ensure just that.
The film stars  Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Jeffrey Wright, with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. The highly anticipated sequel hits theaters on Nov. 22, 2013.
The first installment, released in the US in late March, the first installment has grossed more than $408 million at the North American box office (making it the 13th highest grossing North American release of all time) and nearly $700 million worldwide.
